Tech problem

First of all, I'd like to thank you guys for a great game. But I've got a slight technical problem with it, which, as of yet, hasn't impaired gameplay, its just a little niggle which I'd love to get fixed.

When playing the game, the screen flickers to a black screen in a split-second and resumes gameplay. When the screen has stopped scrolling about, the number of times it does is reduced, but still occurs. When scrolling around the map however, it is a lot more frequent.

I'm playing Beach Life (not Spring Break), running at 1024x768, all graphics options turned on, and using a nVidia GeForce 3 with its latest drivers.

Can anyone help?
