US vs UK version ?!

Hi there,

Just discovered that there are 2 different English versions of Thief 3: US version and UK. Some internet sellers emphasise which one they are selling.

QUESTION:
1. Why the heck is there a UK version?! Was the US version not British enough for England or are there deeper reasons I cannot fathom?
2. Is there any reason to prefer one version over the other since they are both English language versions?

Any suggestions are most welcome - since I just found out that I ordered the US full version of the game - after playing the UK demo, which worked just fine on my US laptop.
