Wow! Was it really 7 years since TR4?? Anyway I think the egypt theme has been well overdone now. weve even had an entire TR based in egypt. Maybe if they were able to tie all the TR's together then maybe

I personally didn't experience that extreme fascination with TR4, simply because it was all set in Egypt. Although Egypt is one of my favourite places in the world(yes, I have been there myself) I got so tired of playing level after level after level in the same place and so I quite after level 10 I will pick it up again one day, but I can't see that one day being any time soon

So, in short, I too am a bit tired of Egyptian levels.....maybe for a level or two such as in TR1, but leave the rest of the game for some other, new locations

Default I have sinned

I think it's good to globe-trot! It brings newer outfits and the levels are more varied and exciting. I really do hope there is an Egypt level though, because I've never played a TR in Egypt (a sin, I know )

Even though I'm a huge fan of TR4, I don't think we really need more Egypt levels. That game pretty much covered every type of Egyptian location, and doing more levels in Egypt would inevitably be redundant.

P.S--
thelegend: Just buy a copy of TR4 if you want Egypt levels! It's a great game, and you can get it for very cheap now (which makes it a fantastic value since the game is HUGE.)

If you had been buried in a pyramid and considered dead by most. Would you really want to go back.

No, but it could have been a great story, when you say so. Lara on her way back to the tomb she once was trapped in to discover an artifact everybody thought was just a myth.

The problem is that I think she got all the main ones last time. And theres no T-rex in Egypt. Ive looked (real world). I think Italy or Greece would be good.

I loved TR4, I loved being in Egypt throughout, and I would totally love to see a custom level someday which is about how Lara got back out of the Great Pyramid... has it been done? I think it would be a brilliant adventure... make her resurface in Italy after having wandered a sub-mediterranean level lol!

Problem is I can't seem to play any custom levels on my PC...

TR4 was awsome though another completely in Egypt TR game would be to much. However if they remade TR4 with TRL graphics and controls but left the length and puzzles the same I'd be tickled pink I would.

I would hazard a guess that TR8 will be continuing were the cliff hanger ending of TRL left off. Which would have nothing to do with Egypt.

Thanks Mangar! I might do that; I've got a large game wish-list for the summer after my exams!
Resy: you never know where TR8 will lead us... I'd never have thought Bolivia or Peru if I'd have been told the basic plot of TRL.

What's the word meaning holding two contrary views simultaneously??

I think Egypt has been done to death in TR, but at the same time I could take some more. Bring it on, I love Egypt. Just make it beautiful as before in TR1 and 4, and full of strange, scary and wonderful things.

to spin the thread a bit...

The title "Legend", in my opinion, has double meaning: firstly, Lara's own family legend (possibly, or the "back to the roots" slogan).
Secondly, Excalibur, King Arthur, one of the most famous legends worldwide.
So, what related items and places could come our way? The Holy Grail. Could be a cup. Could be in Europe. Or in Jerusalem. Could, however, also be the Ark of the Covenant... which could (and I would Oh! so love that! ) lead us to Ethiopia (sp?). There are wonderful stone-hewn churches in Lalibela, sacred lakes with sacred islands, desert, mountains, a wonderful place for Lara to visit.
Avalon. The Druids. Stonehenge. Egypt: Akhenaten and his Sun City.
The fundamental interconnectedness of all things, was it not?

Could be quite a big game, TR8... if they listen... but I would TOTALLY hate it if Zip gives his sloppy remarks about all those wonderful things and places. Why isn't he better spoken, at least? (didn't like him back in TRC either...)

Well I would hope that in Avalon there would be no tech contact from the rest of the "reality" Which would mean NO ZIP hehe.
