Default Cancelled Shows

Who here likes TV? Everyone, right? Well, doesn't it suck when one of your favorite shows gets cancelled? I mean, we've got some great memories of those shows, and the networks just take them away from us! Take for example this last season. I lost Titus, Invader Zim, AND Futurama! Three of my bloody favorites! It was tragic. I was torn asunder. Discuss cancellations of shows and how they suck.

Oh, and sign this petition to bring Invader Zim back: http://www.petitiononline.com/izlovers/petition.html

'Futurama' being cancelled is just petty.
Just because it wasn't pulling in as many viewers as 'The Simpsons'.
Many shows don't but they don't get axed.
Fox's fault for laying on the pressure with ad-lines like "From the creator of 'The Simpsons'!!!"

'The $treet'...I really enjoyed that show....lasted about 11 episodes. Still, it gave Jennifer Connolly the chance to move on and win an Oscar, I suppose.

The biggest crime ever was the cancellation of "Brimstone"...possibly the greatest US TV show ever...every frame was a work of art and a labour of love. And all because it was considered too 'highbrow' for the US audience. Talk about being patronised.

I guess another duff decision was the one that cancelled "Police Squad" (in color) after only six legendary episodes. The reason? As it was played straight and without canned laughter, audiences 'didn't realise it was a comedy show'.
Lame.

I was not aware of the amateur companies premature thoughts about the show. Well Nickelodeon isn't the smartest bunch of people in the world. Always canceling the good shows and trying to get little childern brain-washed with something that doens't even make the least bit of sense.

Now Cartoon Network, I've not seen one good show cancelled from there yet. On the Anime/Action Block (Toonami) they will show certain shows for a few months, than go on to another. That way, I'll be able to watch Tenchi Muyo before Christmas, or maybe even Gundam: 08th MS Team if I'm lucky again this year. Although I've been hoping they'll restart Mobile Suit Gundam. But it's too bad they didn't get Invader Zim or Escaflowne before the others did.

I was P.O.'d when they cancelled "God, The Devil, and Bob" just because it pissed the Catholics off. Please don't take offense by it, but it's true. I'm a Catholic, so there
And the fact that Family Guy isn't on every single day just hacks me right off.

I never watched "Brimstone," DaveJ, but I can unequivocally support you on the Greatest Cancellation Tragedy of All Time being "Police Squad." Funniest thing I've ever seen on television, especially for its time.

More recently: "SportsNight" should have been bigger. It was promoted wrong and another network should have snapped up the license and continued making new episodes.

They did? Pity. That great big fat guy amused me. He always reminded me of a latter-day William Conrad.

The thing with Sports Night was that it was on the wrong network. IMO, it wasn't even that funny, and it belonged on NBC or Fox. Comedy Central is known for more of a raw humor, rather than a rehearsed sitcom.

Boots - it was on ABC for 3 years. ComedyCentral only bought the reruns when the show went off the air.

Word is that Dark Angel just didn't generate the numbers Fox expected.

Fan protests can save a show for another season. Complain to Fox.

NBC had a really good show on recently, that I think lasted for two episodes, but it was good. It was "Watching Ellie" with Julia Louis-Dreyfus. I thought it was really good, so I do not understand why it was cancelled.

As for Futurama, Fox should have kept it, because once the Simpsons is done, it will have just about nothing else to rely upon for ratings, so it'll just go belly up.......
