T3 - No sound.

I've scoured the support links and forums here for any reference to the exact issue i'm having. The ONLY link I found relevant to my situation was this one

And it's not helpful in the least.

Shortly after the release of Thief: Deadly Shadows i bought the game and played it on my system, and everything worked fine. Recently I reformatted my machine, so it's a fresh system. I tried reinstalling it yesterday, but i noticed that when I run the game, the only sound is from the intro movies. Once i get to the menu, from there on in there is no sound whatsoever.

Tonight i did a reinstall of the game, but that did not fix the problem. I've double checked my sound settings and everything is working as it should. Anyone have any knowledge of this issue or how to correct it?

I'm using a Yamaha Legacy DS1 soundcard.
The game did work in the past under the same configuration.
I'm stumped
