i was just browsing some gaming sites and most sites (that even mentioned PC's) had logos for all of the major consoles and at the end of the horizontal spread it just intoned PC i.e.
XBox(logo) PlayStation2(logo) GameCube(logo) PC(no logo) perhaps if PC gaming is going to reclaim the Pop-Culture throne (because everyone knows that consoles can't hold a candle to the power of a PC, if you have thoughts to the contrary, you're delusional,) it needs a logo of it's own. ![]() Any thoughts?

I must be the only one here still standing by the consoles.
I like my PS2 just fine.

the main reason i started this thread is the fact that game devs and publishers seem to be more bent on deving/releasing console games and that is quite irritating some times.
i haven't owned a console since the snes and i'd like to keep it that way! i'm just bummed that games that are made for pc are usually released for consoles (namely the xbox, which is a pc with no floppy, kb or mouse, and connects to, hehehe, a tv) and the game is usually very short and disappointing. i say DEATH TO THE CONSOLE!!

Whatever the platform - a good game is a good game regardless.
And bad games are no strangers to any platform either. |

A True Gamer can see past the limitations of a particular piece of hardware, be it a console, a PC, a set of dog-eared playing cards, a Monopoly board missing the all-important Top-Hat piece and 1/3rd of its cash, a Chess set for which you must substitute small snail-shells for Pawns and the Black Queen is a cutout of Angelina Jolie... True Games and True Gamers transcend the medium. Anyone who disagrees can challange me to Rock-Paper-Scissors at any time, best 2000 out of 3000. |

True words, DaveJ and GM. I game on both platforms myself - each has its strengths and weaknessess which I'm sure we're all well aware of. There is a PC logo, right? The red box with the large, white uppercase 'PC' letters? I don't think a flashy logo will help anyway (I didn't buy my PS2 'cause of that slick, neon "PSZ" on top).
Unfortunately, while there will always be a plethora of PC gamers out there I believe PC games will eventually go the way of the dodo. It's a niche market for people willing to deal with dozens of playability issues and a lot of expense. While the OS has come a long way in terms of user friendliness, you still have to be near a skilled hacker to get a game running optimally (esp. newer games and older PC's). Most ppl these days want to 'get and go', and that's what consoles offer. |

I'll do a "PC logo". But I want a nickel for every computer it's placed on.

PCs do have logos its just that there are thousands of manufacturers and home built jobs....
but you go to the top and you see ones like Alienware... if you have loads and loads and loads of dough you can order one of these puppies and send them your games... they will preinstall them for you.... like a very pricey console really so that said the PC is generic hence the generic icon or lack there of Long live the PC and its games
