Deus Ex:IW uses a modified <strong>Unreal Warfare</strong> engine. Now, in every benchmark and analysis I can find, recent AMD processors (including the AMD FX-51 versus the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition) beat Intel implementations for running Unreal based games.
Recent articles (Toms, Xbit, Anand, etc..) show, yet again, the AMD top hardware besting the Intel top hardware by a significant margin when it comes to running Unreal 2003. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu...4-fx51_14.html http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/200...lon_64-28.html http://www.anandtech.com/cpu/showdoc.html?i=1884&p=13 So the question is, does AMD hardware run Deus Ex:IW better than Intel hardware? I am running an Intel 3.06ht @ 3.35 w/ an ATI 9700 Pro, and honestly, the framerates aren't winning any awards above 1024x768. My specs: Intel Pentium 4 3.06 @ 3.35ghz (FSB=144, stock Vcore) Gigabyte 8PE667 MB (i845PE chipset, might snag an Abit IC7 for dual channel lovin') ATI Radeon 9700 Pro @ 337.5/337.5 1gb Corsair XMS3500 @ 2-2-6-1 (512mb x 2) SB Audigy Sony GDM-F520 Monitor 3DMark2001SE (b330) = 16,778 3DMark2003SE (b340) = 5,332 Catalyst 3.9 Drivers DX9.0b I would like to hear some FRAPS results from those running AMD hardware @ various resolutions and any other notes of interest. |
