Lightbulb Graphics Challenge #20 - ENTER HERE!

Okay, I have finally settled on a topic for the latest graphics challenge:

An Abstract/Surrealist Autumn

Participants will need to convey their thoughts/feelings/etc. of the Autumn season or create a vision of Autumn in a thought-provoking manner.

Say for example, an individual chooses Halloween, don't just use a pumpkin and a ghost. Elaborate on this, and disassociate your entries from any specific instance. (You may incorporate indentifiable imagery in your entries though).

I hope that you find this to be an acceptable (and challenging) competition.

Here are the general challenge rules.

Let's continue with the seven day entry period and no usage of signature images in this thread.

Good luck to you!

I will post my entry soon.

Cool afterward

Somehow this has ended up a lot less abstract than planned, it's still 5 different forrests mixed together with giant leaves and disproportionate walking boots and I've put it through a few filters to 'blob' it a bit, but if anyone thinks it doesn't fullfill the criteria, please feel free to remove it. I don't want to upset things
I just wanted to submit it anyway, because I'm dismayed that everyone seems to be interpreting autumn with death over-tones, when for me it's completely the opposite. And I wanted that point of view up here too.

Title: Infinite Autumn
Medium: Photoshop
Inspiration: Despite Autumn being my favorite season, I live in the sticks and dread the day when all the pretty leaves fall to the ground and I have to rake them. It's really a never-ending event. (We still have leaves out there from last year). They just keep falling, and falling and falling...

There are no death over-tones in mine. It merelly celebrates the onset of my favourite time of year. Especially when nature is bedecked with the jewelery of frost. I always feel that this is nature at it's most beautiful.

BTW - Your picture fits in just fine.

True.. Mine depicts the serenity of the night skies, and autumn/winter is the best time for star gazing, as the nights are longer.. It's almost time to bring the telescope out again, methinks

Appologies to entrants about the 'death over-tones' statement, it was merely my perception of the over-all feel, which I don't deny, could be wrong

TTL, you're not far wrong with that statement, as the change from one season to another always brings about the 'death' of the previous season, so you would be right in you interpretation.

Very nice art everyone.... except that dhama of course; always the show off...

Actually, imo, TTL, you're not far wrong either, Autumn for me signifies death definitely, a very beautiful death at that. However I know that after the final installment of this death, winter, will come rebirth, spring!! I loooooooooooove the seasons.

btw, love your piccy, fits the criteria for me!!

Autumn is but a funeral of a dear warm friend, winter being the wake, and spring being the rebirth of that dear warm friend.......
