Thumbs up Pleasssssssssssssssssssssse

Who ever is out on this forum, and has really good ties with Core i need you to do all of us a favor, pllllllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaassse?

Could ya find out what is Core up to. And why they brought a sub-par, gliched-up game to E3? Cause i think i speak for everyone here when i say i'm very worried about AOD. I just don't get it. Why would ANYONE release a demo this is crapy and uninspired to E3, knowing they have a bad rep of making ho hum, rehashed games?

PLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSE????????

Who cares? Its a demo, get over it. I've just finished reading a copy of PSM2 who have played through the whole game, and while there are still a few issues to be sorted out, the game is fantastic. They say that the only reason you wouldn't like this game is because, and I quote:

Quote:
You are under the illusion that the series is in a rut
In other words, it's very good.

I wouldnt worry if I were you, I think Core are taking so long to make this game because they want it perfect.

I know, I read that copy too. But this E3 is in a later statement. So you would expect to see AOD at it's last update. But... they are showing worst then?

The reason i am worried so much is cause that same PSM you and i read named the same issues and glitches the E3 version had. Maybe, just maybe, the people at PSM are bias for the Tomb Raider series and overlooking the problems. That, could very well be a posibility. It happens all the time, like sayyy GTA:VICE CITY.

Well, did you maybe stop to consider that the reason they keep moving the release date back is because they are fixing these errors?

This is a big milestone for one of the most popular game series. It's make or break time: I highly doubt that they are going to leave glitches and bugs in the finshed version.

I put more faith in E3 reviewers than in magazine previews. Magazine previews are almost always positive. As I said before, if a magazine gets a scoop on a game, they want to use it to sell their magazine. A cover that reads: "Get the lowdown on why TR:AOD Sucks!!" won't have us shelling out seven bucks for the mag. On the other hand, a cover story reading, "Get the inside scoop on this amazing new game!!" will sell issues.

(I hope I'm wrong though.)

You are very right! But that only applys to certain games though.
I hate to say it, but people have said bad things like ,''oh god not another one!'' on the cover of their magazines for the longest. Even with AOD, they said some mean stuff! And i also agree on the fact that E3 reviews are more reliable than the mags because 9 times out of ten the people in the mags only look at pictures and lean on what the developers say about their games, then they critize or hype based on those two things. Even they don't get a playable version until E3 or some of the other events, and if they see fit they will bug the developers until they let them see or play it. The thing is, even when mags critize on the cover, i still find myself reading it, just to see what they have said. And although it does matter what they put on the cover, it's not enough to impact sales to the degree you're refering to. If people are famailar with a game they like that's not out, they still will buy it, just to see what it says about it. Take GTA series, even if the mags down the ''part 2'' people will still pick up the issue just to see what's wrong.

Default LOOK AT THIS!!!

May 16, 2003 - At the Electronic Entertainment Exposition today, Eidos Interactive showcased for the second year in a row Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness, the newest chapter in the Lara Croft series that took the 32-bit generation by storm in 1996.

Now that it's 2003 we have a slightly different story. Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness looks like a relatively interesting adventure game that has either been shown too much, made too big a deal of, or simply not come through, but the game did not make a terribly grandeur appearance. Showing up with surprisingly slow gameplay and simplistic action sequences, Lara's new game seems hardly ready for a June release.

The single mission I played featured Lara entering the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. It's not quite sure why she's there, however she must carefully sneak though several high-ceiling, open rooms, each well designed with an architect's sensibility, to find something very important. (The particular part of the story was not revealed, but this mission fits nicely into the rest of the game, we're told.)

She sneaks around, breaking necks, shooting and fighting enemies, all of whom are located at door entrances, until a sneak-attack team breaks in and gasses the place. Lara is capable of kicks, punches, and an incredibly slow set of combos. The action aspect of this game is very curious, and if you don't have your gun out, you'll be forced to use it. In fact, several things seem strange about this one. For instance, Lara cannot open door with her gun out; she must stow it in her backpack before opening the door.

The mysterious enemies release light green poisonous gas, filling the rooms and knocking out all the guards who aren't already dead. Except for Lara, that is, who manages to deftly run through the deadly stuff fighting off heavily armed guards as she makes her way to the upper levels to grab a gas mask. Another strange thing: though Lara knocks out several guards prior to finding her own mask, why doesn't she take one from a guard? Hm… When she reaches the room, she puts it on, after which she can then freely wander around kicking ass and searching for that special something.

Shortly thereafter Lara meets or, shall we say, is accosted by, Curtis, the new playable character in the game. A long cutscene ensues, as Curtis removes Lara's guns from behind while not being shy about feeling Lara's curvaceous body, and the two meet face to face. The moment is close to one seen in a Hollywood movie -- it appears Lara feels a combination of fear and sexual attraction -- all mixed into one very interesting moment. You're left with the feeling that Lara and Curtis (who thankfully decides not to kill her) at some future point might have something going on. It's no clear why Curtis is there, but he too is on the trail of this mysterious enemy (which set the gas bomb off).

At this point, Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness looks decent and plays somewhere in between decent to questionable. The action is simple, obvious and uninspired, while the adventure clearly is still the crux of the game. Will the action and stealth grow to become more intriguing? Will the adventure aspects still titillate us like Tomb Raider 1 and 2? Will the story compel? It's still unclear at this point, but here's hoping Core can deliver this game intact, finely tested and packed with fun in June.
