Default The Saints level in Absolution change due to negative feedback

Due to the backlash from the Attack of the Saints trailer, they decided to add more to the characters.

I think people overreacted too much over a game trailer.

Here's the article link

well in good news IO will make it better cause they add details to them

which is a good thing, IO...maybe you should think of doing that for all the targets for the next hm...
one thing is to kill a unknown target another is to kill a target that you know has a family and such...

it make it Hm even darker

Well the article metions them as being "leather-clad" althougtheir outfits look more like latex too me, but that's beside the point.

As the ICA File on the saints says: "What's with the fetish-costumes?" And just those costumes seem to be the problem because, as opposed to some of the things the female targets in blood money were wearing, there's no good reason for them to wear those costumes. They are a squad dedicated to killing targets in open confrontation, so sense dictates that they should wear body-armor, combat boots, and clothing with lots of pouches for extra ammunition etc. and not skin-tight outfits with corsets and heels. The location (roadside motel during a storm) also doesn't justify their outfits (as opposed to many of the outfits the female targets in blood money wore if you consider the rave, New Orleans, the pool area in a new life, and that party with strippers). Now, while putting in some women in hot outfits as fan-service is ok (just remember the Meat-Kings Party from Contracts which was filled with women in bondage gear) it should still be in a kind of realistic and believable manner, so making a group of professional assassins wear something that would only hinder them during their work can hardly be justified.

It gives them character and make the seem crazy, which adds to the experience.

Why would a professional assassin wear a 5000$ dollar suit? It's not easy to get out of and wear something else, it's expensive and would make him seem out of place in a lot of areas, the game dosen't have to make sense, it's a game.

The suit at least blends him in with civilians, since, at almost every bigger city on earth, you're going to sooner or later see a guy in a suit and probably not think much about it. (Furthermore the suit reinforces the image of an "organized" criminal.) The suit also doesn't sexualize 47, (except for people with some suit-fetish) while the saint's outfits only serve that purpose. The sexualizing equivalent would be having 47 run around topless, or in a harness and leather pants.

Well suit in a game or movie help to create a character. I think they are literally EX - CRAZY WHORES. That trailer did not offended me in any way. In Hitman universe there is plenty of different costumes. Woman in Hitman universe are sexy beasts. Sometime I wonder why 47 is not walking around with a boner. I donīt know how would I feel in that party in Las Vegas . Well I am not on that animated stuff I looked on the problem with eyes of game character. I just hope this changes will not delay the game.

I'm glad the developers took in mind what the fans believed about the trailers. At least this seems that they are paying some attention to what we think.

All these persons who complained about the nuns in the Saints trailer, are close-minded people. If you feel somehow offended by a video, why would you watch it in the first place? It's just a game, for crying out loud.

I decided to create an account to post to this thread, because stuff like this really gets me mad. If people are offended then they don't have to buy the game. I hate when people try to censor others. Let the developers make the game they want. And developers need to stand up for their creations, don't let these people sway you.

I've already paid in full for my copy of Absolution, and I'm really looking forward to picking up my copy on Nov. 20th. I think it'll be a great game.

I'm also loving the Contracts multiplayer component.

Skip this PR nonsense to find more interesting quote...

Now I see...the true side of this hitman... chaos sandboxes, dull and useless crowd and ugly action ... are not the smartest way!
Better choose intelligent accidents, toolware and extremely creative advice for your entertaining!

Of course they should make the game they want. But taking the wrong actions could result in less sales right?
Why these forums exist? For the people to discuss what they like or not. For the developers to see where they might have possibly gone wrong. Everyone wants to see a great sequel of one of their favorite games.

Saying "you don't like it, don't buy it" is not the right thing to do. If I believe that they have taken a wrong decision I should say it because maybe then they can listen to the fans and make something that both are proud for.

Why bother to? Because I don't like the direction games nowadays are taking. And if someone must take the blame, it's us.

Well, I'm just glad they didn't scratch the whole level completely just because people were offended, and I like that they're trying to add more to the characters and give them more depth.

From PC Gamer:

But @Hitman tweeted this:
Quote:
To be clear, we've not removed the Saints from Hitman: Absolution. Some contextual background to the assassins was added. Nothing removed.

I like the new changes; it seemed a bit confusing to have several "nuns" taking on 47, and we don't get to know anything about them.

I dont think anyone was offended. The whole trailer just didnt make any sense and im glad the developers are going to introduce them more and give us background information on them.

After I saw the saints Video I was very disappointed...
Agent 47 is Killing in a van Damme manner.

And I also thought it is very unrealistic that good looking women are trying to kill 47 with no personal reason. 8 or how many they are, all hired to kill one man by walking towards him with guns? I really hate that. I hope it make a bit sense in the game. And also, how is it possible they could find him so easily... and so on...

Well according to the Saints ICA trailer some of them were either in jail and/or were strippers. They may not be that intelligent because of jail and stripping but they also have a satisfactory success rate. I would assume Benjamin Travis ordered them to kill 47.

I just want to know how they got the school bus and why they would visibly wear high heels with nun attire and why they are called the Saints.

Don't people read stories anymore, watch tv, or movies ?

So we have a squad of assasins called the Saints?, and they are hard ore killers ?
Sure they are going to wear latex, leather, and look like nuns ? Why not - its also good for the Saints, they add to their reputation, and people get to know & fear them.

Also noway you can "blend" in anywhere dressed like hitman :-D
