LOL, too funny.
How is that funny? It's sad... but so true indeed

Yeah, they seem to be really scared of communicating with the fanbase. Either that, or they just enjoy pissing people off.

I agree. There's nothing funny about the way EM has been treating the Thief fans for the past 3+ years. To try and laugh-off a sad and pathetic situation, in attempt to obscure this reality, is inappropriate and inconsiderate.

Yes they have, and it's a shame that this is true. When the time comes, EM is going to have a very tough time asking the people in the Thief community for their support, given all the bad PR for the last 3 years.

The majority of the Thief community here have always been supportive, as far as I can tell.
Sure... we ALL want to hear and see more; but that goes without saying.

It's funny because he obviously isn't being serious. There won't be a cancellation announcement.
The fact that I understand the humour doesn't make me inconsiderate.

No, you're wrong and acting delusional. Most people in the Thief community do not support or approve of the way EM has been treating them for last 3 years.

There are hundreds of fans registered on this forum, yet I have only seen very few who complain persistently.
But I have no wish to argue with your take on the situation... we each have our own views.. and mine doesn't make me 'delusional', so please quit with the personal attacks as its against the ToU.

You're not getting it. His point is that if Thief 4 were to be canceled (still a possibility at this point), he would be released from a bad 3+ year relationship with EM. That's not a joke.

I am getting it... I'm just obviously not taking it as seriously as you are.
I mean... I don't see cancellation as "still a possibility at this point" like you do. Thus, it isn't a serious worry for me personally, so I prefer to have a chuckle.
It's perfectly harmless and said in a light-hearted manner... please don't worry.

I never said otherwise.

Yet, his feelings are serious, both larix and I easily picked this up. Given the current discontent within the community, I would try and be a little more sensitive in the future.

It's not a personal point of view. The cancellation of Thief 4 is possible. When you say, 'there won't be a cancellation announcement', you're wrong because you don't know that. You simply can't guarantee that in the future Thief 4 won't be canceled. Period.

It's pretty obvious that most in the community are unsatisfied with the way EM has treated them for the past 3+ years, regardless of how vocal they've been about it.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by "... the way EM has treated them...".

As already mentioned and agreed, we ALL wish to see and hear more about T4. There is no argument here.

The community as a whole are a content enough bunch, so I don't believe I need to be more sensitive. Obviously, if dda was being serious, then he has my sympathy... if that is what he wants; but I don't think so. But I read his post there as an attempt at dry humour. I thought it was genius... I thought it was funny. In a thread titled "What will be your favorite part of the game?", lol.

But to reply to your advice... II have always enjoyed a sense of humour as I believe it's always better for the soul to laugh than it is to cry. I don't intend to change the way I am any more than anyone else here does. Humour is normal and surely okay when done in good spirit. I'm laughing with my taffer friends, I'm not laughing at them. When people are really arguing with each other and calling each other names, I don't see you giving them advice about being more sensitive. Please remember, I enjoy posting on this forum like any regular member... so treat my posts as such. I'm only a "moderator" when I am performing duties relating to the ToU.

Anyway, this stuff is all off-topic and I'm sure will bore many taffers. If you have any further grievances about my personal sense of humour, please take it to PM.

Of course I can't guarantee that in the future T4 won't be cancelled... any more than you can guarantee it will be cancelled. So we're equal and both PoVs are valid. I fail to see why you would have a problem with me not taking cancellation seriously. I accept your thoughts on the matter, and that you take it seriously, so please accept mine. I don't take cancellation of T4 seriously AT ALL. For those who do... fine, no problems, their prerogative.

EDIT:

Meridius, to help keep Sly Cooper's thread clean and on topic, I've moved our off-topic discussion into the rants thread.
Hope you don't mind.

I'd be scared to post on here if I were them. So many people on this forum are right grumpy sods.

Some of us have been here since 2009 with absolutely no official information about T4...if we are grumpy then it's Eidos and Square Enix's fault. The happy people are the new ones, but don't worry Eidos and Square Enix will make sure that they become grumpy too.

and yet this year silence to release all moved in 2013. The thief4 release would have been to the site.

PS: some foul language

Ciniyx,

Please remember that the language used on these forums is English. Also there is really no need to post foul language here, neither in English or Russian.

Thanks,

Is it really that hard to follow a discussion, is it difficult to consider more than one sentence at a time? Where does anyone ever say anything remotely like that?

Do not know if he does, but it seems like a reasonable assumption unless you have evidence of the contrary. It is certainly how it usually works.

Eh? I've been on this forum since the first day it appeared and have visited almost every day since! I guess I understand that most games take a long time to make...i.e., three to four years, and they'll unveil it when they're ready. Being upset about it won't make the game appear any quicker.

No, but you are a member of the happy wagon. And, you have said many times that your enjoyment is from the interactions of the forum members concerning the theories and such. You have to understand that those of us coming up with the theories are not having a great time because 1. they are just theories. And, 2. They keep getting thwarted by the lack of any sort of validation.

I am not a member of any exclusive happy wagon. I book my own transport and choose my own road to travel. We are all free to choose our own journey and its up to us if we enjoy the ride or not..

lol true. The problem with Thiaf: the 3+ year (wagon or other mode of transport) journey that all of us are on has been on a LLLOOONNNNGGGG dark tunnel that has a beginning (that point of light gets smaller every day) but the potential end is only seen as an odd flicker of dim light but is mostly absent.

My transport of choice is hydrofoil (traveling on the water through a big arse floating tunnel type thingey obviously duh).
