I never gonna understand why ppl want strong heavy punch into ambient. As you said, it is against its nature. DXHR is a stealth game where is lots of hiding and outsmarting the opponents action. This is the music for it nicely in the background hardly there but when you finish with the game for a day you still humming the tunes in your head...

I curious those ppl who 'complaining' about a too soft ambient music what other sort of games they played. Is is possible they got use to a lock and load and blast everybody to pieces games? For those games, yes perhaps need heavy music.

Agreed, sucks even more since they didn't include the song from the Hive.

Pardon me while I gush some more over McCann's soundtrack. From 00:01:40 onward-- 100% original DX eeriness. <3

There's something wonderful about the buzz that kicks in after 1.40.

I'd forgotten about this one too. So many missing from official soundtracks.

Default How can I open bigfiles? I want to extract the music files

I tried opening with 7zip but it doesn't let me do it. How can I open them? I really want to listen to the soundtrack, especially the song that plays during *SPOILERS* the fight with Barrett. Those drums are *** awesome (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-0eGO7CIBw skip to 1:15)

I don't recall hearing it anywhere in the game; it might have been made just for the trailer.

I'm 99% certain that track accompanies the Namir fight in Singapore. Don't the name off the top of my head (I haven't gotten the complete soundtrack yet, not much help there!)

Aye, that's it. A bit of a different mix in the trailer, that's not really a surprise though. Would've been relatively straightforward.

Default Does the Augmented Edition bonus CD contain the entire soundtrack?

Due to a combination of my forgetfulness, other priorities, and various other circumstances, I hadn't gotten around to checking out the bonus CD of my augmented edition until now. And when I checked it out, I was rather surprised. For a 20+ hour videogame, 12 tracks seem like a surprisingly low amount. So I checked out the Itunes version. That version actually has 25 tracks.

I'm confused. Was I given a fluke disc. Did my computer interact poorly with it? Or did the developers decide to give us only half the soundtrack in the augmented edition? I'm not sure which of these is the correct one, so I was hoping you guys could help (surely I was not the only one to purchase the special edition).

The soundtrack is not the full OST. Neither is the iTunes version.

It's actually not that uncommon that either pre-order bonuses or extras for "special editions" don't include everything when it comes to the soundtrack.

I wish they'd release the entire beast somehow, on multiple CDs. I'd love clean versions of the Hugh Darrow tracks.

With Hugh Darrow tracks you mean the music that plays in Panchaea?

Oh, and clean out your PM box. :p

No, I think he means the music that plays in the cutscene where you find Darrow on his throne in Panchaea.

the dvd has 12 tracks embedded:

1. Icarus (main theme)
2. Opening credits
3. Main Menu
4. Barret Boss Fight
5. Detroit (rock) City Ambient (part 1)
6. & Away We Go
7. Lower Hengsha Ambient (part 1)
8. Return to Hengsha
9. Honghua Brothel
10. Everybody Lies
11. Limb Clinic
12. Endings

how many tracks does the real ost contain anyway?

This, also there's an alternate version when you first meet him in Sarif's office. The in-game versions have SFX baked into them.

Yeah, can't think of any other way to obtain the clean tracks unless directly released by Square. That channel is still a treasure trove, though.

The 25-track version seems to be missing quite a few tracks, too!

Detroit City Ambient Part 1 - where's part 2?
Lower Hengsha Ambient Part 1 - where's part 2?
Singapore Ambient Part 2 - where's part 1?
Hengsha Daylight Part 1 - where's part 2?

=( i just want the full soundtrack...

An intriguing, delicately complex new album from Jerion that you folks will enjoy. No crappy speakers allowed!
