Lost Island Chapter Glitch...

hey has anyone else run in to this glitch in the Lost Island chapter shortly after the final boss fight where the first stone platform floating in the lava dosen't appear? it's in the part around the check point just past the room where you need to unlock the 3 underwater gates!.. does anyone know how to get past this problem? (perfeibley without cheating) cause i can't finish the game because of the glitch..
