Am I an idiot? (question about loading files in Tomb Raider on PSP)

So I bought Tomb Raider today, and have gotten to the third level, and proceeded to save and exit. However, when I go to load file upon starting up the game, the Caves is the only level that I can choose from and the current position option takes me to right after killing the bear in the first level. I seem unable to pick a different level to load, even though my memory card says Tomb Raider save I have is for the 3rd level, if I look at the time registered with the save. Am I just being an idiot? I've tried every button, and seem unable to load my newest file.
