An updated photo of Tiggy (right) & Poppy (left). They're getting quite big now.

I'm always getting stray cats around. They're just wild cats I guess. Some places have problems with a lot of cats but these have adapted to the forest I guess. They hang around if there's food. It's probably hard to find it in the woods. There's this one hanging around now that's pure black. Kinda scary looking. If you see it and it sees you it'll just totally freeze and do a staring contest. LOL! Our favorite big orange cat disappeared. I hope he's okay. I was mad at him because male cats spray out their butts. LOL! You definitely don't want these things in your house!

Unhappy

Our syrian hamster Button passed away last night.

He was over 2 but it was still a shock. The vet had said he was geriatric and not to expect too much when we took him in a couple of months ago but after a course of antibiotics he was looking great.

We let a friend look after him over our wedding and honeymoon and brought him home yesterday and by this morning he had died.

It didn't hit me at first - he looked like a bad copy of his actual self. It might have been the rigamortis but I couldn't associate his lifeless body with him until this evening after work when we went to bury him and then it finally hit me that he was gone. We buried him under a rose bush and I went upstairs to cry and I haven't been able to stop feeling that way since.

Actually, he's goin' off into the Armed Forces soon.
I'll post the pic at his Gradiation then too ~ HAH!

Of BOOT CAMP!

~A PREVIEW OF TIMES TO COME~

SERGEANT: "WAKE UP SOLDIER!!!"

LARGE CHILD: "Huh? Whaaah??? Make my bed???"

YIKES!!!
"pssst... Hey Guys, I think he MEANS IT!"

Now let me tell ya, Kool Kat that is SO sad!

After I was divorced and had 2 little ones, I bought my boys Degus. (They're like hamsters) Very friendly... they'll crawl on you, nestle in your hoodie or on your shoulder... Quite lovely creatures.

I'm sorry for your loss hunny.
I didn't mean to scrunch it all into one, but I'm pressed for time. I truly am sorry Kool. *hugs*

Thanks Driber. It's okay, I'm feeling a lot better now. I'm just glad he went in his sleep in the end. :-)

So sorry to hear that KoolKat. My condolences. It's a shame, but it's great that you are a real animal lover. RIP Button.

I know what you mean. When my betta Rainbow died, I got so sad. I never thought that a fish dying would make me so upset, but it did. I grew really attached to him. We all did. My brother was really upset too. Mom too. My whole family was pretty much. That Christmas, my brother made a stocking for Rainbow. RIP Rainbow, you were a good fish.

Thanks Tipto, TheHylden and The Zoo Boy. I'm feeling much better now. :-)

I've got a couple of recent pics of Tiggy and Poppy:

I tried to put them as thumbnails but must have done something very wrong lol because the pics became huge so have left them as normal size instead.

Edit: Thanks for the thumbnail help Driber!

Oh my gosh.... THOSE EYES!!!!
It's like they see right through ya. Adorable.

Now I hope this is helpful, but back at the Dark Cafe which is pretty much dead now... I did my Icons as 403 width x 442 height in pixels. I can't remember the html I used, but you probably know all that anyway.

eh... it always turned out beautifully. *shrugs*
But certainly glad that you're feeling better! It's a good time of year to "feel better" hunny. *smoOchies*

I thought I'd share this news in this thread, being animal lovers 'n' all.

I wept over this story of Anne the elephant, but I'm feeling happy today, for justice has been done.
