Deus Ex runs poorly on my machine.

Greetings,

I have bought this game and wish to play it. However, I am only finding I can play it with all of the settings turned down to the LOWEST quality and running at 800 x 600 resolution. It's pretty ridiculous speaking as though my computer is not that bad. My specs are;

Windows 7 64-bit
Intel Core i-5 @ 2.79 GHz
4 Gigs DDR2 RAM
nVidia GeForce 9500 GT

My graphics drivers are up to date and I am running DirectX 11, however, my video card doesn't support 11 usage, so I believe the game would be booting up with DirectX 9.1 or 10. I would not think this would make a huge difference. I run Skyrim at a fairly high rate, only with V-Synch disabled, and it runs fine.

Any tips on how to make this game run decently?
