Now that Hitman is becoming more and more advanced... and programmers and developers have to start making the tough decisions of 'whats next'.... and what us the fans will like best, i thought i would open it up a bit for people to discuss their favorite hand to hand combat games... so IO can be on the lookout for some of 'Hitman Fans' favorites...
as for me ... i know my favorite hand to hand combat games are from the Fight Night series - in my opinion the best... jabs - body shots - blocks - uppercuts - haymakers - its got it all - even the way the sticks are used makes sense... adapting this to a game like hitman would be tricky... but something i would like to see attempted... there could be a button you where you could either toggle or hold to jump in and out of hand to hand combat mode... / changing all of the buttons and controls to match... i would imagine that there would be a bit more struggling than 47 has allowed in the past, but it might be cool... 47 would have his 'unique' moves... he wouldn't quite be boxing of course.. which jumps into another thought... what kind of combat training does 47 use??? jujitsu, aikido, ???? |

just watched a trailer for 'Sleeping Dogs'.... that hand to hand combat seems pretty sweet... i wonder how the controls will feel - how realistic/difficult the controls are

When you play a game where all the actions are contextual and all the buttons have 5 different functions based on various different variables, it's like playing a character who is drunk or has cerebral palsy. Good control is when you don't need to concentrate on the control, and you can concentrate on the game.

Love it! My favorite moment is when he grabs things from the environment and hit on the head to the enemies!
Another good moment, when in the demo of last year try to scape from one helicopter, very good scene!

One way or another. As I saw the videos, 47s moves are very slow. They show one thing in the trailer when he fights like bourne and then you see a gameplay and it is very slow and making same moves...

the best hand to hand combat (not in a fighting game series or something of a similar note) i've come across in a game so far is surprisingly the bourne conspiracy. the game was pretty average but the combat was about the only thing it did well in terms of animation and overall execution. otherwise true crime hong kong aka sleeping dogs looks to easily surpass it but for something now, thats the closet thing.
Yet adding it into hitman seems wrong and out of place, the only way to add something with 47 kicking butt and involving the player would be with a QTE, and QTE's don't belong in a hitman game the same way multiplayer doesn't. |

I like how the devs are getting creative with the environmental weapons. That's a new thing here. It's being integrated to this game a lot. I like it. A mixture of hand-to-hand and environmental weapons can bring something to the game.

I would assume Agent 47 is trained in Krav-Maga. That would be pretty sweet and already looks alot like what he's doing in Absolution.
