Raziel Daughter as PC for new LoK game

*WARNING MASSIVE SPOILERS* For SR1 and Blood Omen 2.


Hi, everyone i new to this forum and started to visiting it only after hearing some *hushhush* and rumors about continuation of my favorite game series.

So i think if they ever going to make a new game for Legacy of Kain and finish up the story, Kain will eventually had to move back into the "present" - the time of Soul Reaver 1.

Well, and when Raziel first time meets with Kain at the Throne room of clans, Raziel first question is "What have you done with my clan, Kain?". O course Raziel could 'embrace' or 'turn' even a boy into vampire and made him his kin(or a kind), but we never played a female character in LoK games so far.

Also - despite the fact that i absolutely loved the game for Kain and he is by far my most favored character ever created in any movie/book/game, i find it often more enjoying when he is that mysterious guy plotting and directing you like he did during Soul Reaver 1 and 2.

This would also keep a 'tied' in with previous games - as Raziel's daughter would`t know anything about her father returning from abyss, and would still hunt for Kain for destroying her clan and sentencing her father to eternal suffering.

Another thing i would like on this scenario is that we would see the 'present' - ruined Nosgoth in new graphics, and there was still much (and with the new games even more) left to be visited (or revisited) in this time. Overall , even despite the gloomy atmosphere i still liked the ruined Nosghoth most of all its representations and even the first Soul Reaver is in my opinion the best in the whole series - because there is open world, with lots of secrets, glyphs, flame reaver enhancement, and unique ways to defeat your enemies - like throwing them into sun/water or on spikes, impaling them etc... I hope something from this will be brought back, as well as usage of different weapons.

Not to mention more varied enemies - and of course a new Hylden invasion which Sarafan Lord at the end of the Blood Omen 2 mention.


"You will not live that long" - that probably means that Kain was suppose to die by Raziel's hand either as originally intended at his mountain Retreat(though Hylden were`t probably then fleshed out yet) or in the past - in Avernus Cathedral.

At the moment i did`t even think about the name - something unique and with some 'other' meaning, like probably every name given to any character within LoK universe. I mean female names were good so far - Ariel sound really "haunting" (despite it being a name of a washing powder in my country), Umah - well i always think about Uma Turman for some reasons , every time she is mention.

Her look also - i seen in some of the music videos on youtube - Razielims artwork, and that they would develop into something like winged daemons - now i am not sure how would that work, especially considering that flying would give a lots of 'exploiting' powers to the players, but maybe there could be some kind of 'stamina' limiting it. She also could have a completely unique look or something absolutely new - maybe not even deformed unlike rest of the clans that followed Kain's "State of Change".

It'd be nifty to see an LOK vampire taking on the world with a more nuanced approach. These males are always just straight up stabbing stuff.

I keep coming back to the thought that the Razielim were destined to become the winged ancients all over again. Somehow, they were the ones who were going to overcome the curse and bring the species back to its glory days. Kain picked up on this when he saw Raz's wings, and back then Kain would have seen it as a threat to his necro species, so he tossed Raziel into the drink, both to make the soul reaver history come true but also to get rid of any competition from the Ancients making a comeback. Now, maybe Kain would be more "on board" with the idea of restoring the species along with the planet? He gave up on his necro species, after all. So if Vorador can be miraculously brought back to life in BO2, maybe the Razielim can receive a similar miracle so their dead flesh is enlivened once more.

Oh! Forgot to tie all of that in with the Daughter of Raziel.......
perhaps a mother figure is what vampires need to heal and nurture their species and bring this thing home.
Can't picture Kain holding a healed vampire baby and posing with it for a victory photo op. He's all about victory through slashing and grrrr. He's not known for his skills at mending things. He might 'mend' the pillars, but what about Nosgoth's social scene? He's too coarse to play the 'good cop' after spending so many centuries as the 'bad cop.' Once the world is restored, maybe he should take a well deserved vacation and leave the rebuilding to someone with a softer touch. If that someone was a Razielim, that'd be like keeping it in the family.

Razielim were thought exterminated. When Raziel questions Melchaih about it - he says "You are the last to die". But of course, Melchiah cannot know for sure if he murdered all of them.

- here is the video, at 0:35 showing evolved Razielim. Now i doubt the main character would be so monstrous, even more so a female. But the wings, horns and claws should at least be kept for sure. And long black hair so she resembles Raziel. And the Razielim symbol through her back as well - like Kain has, and Raziel had at the beginning of SR1.

For Flying and other special abilities you could have "energy bar" that regenerates over time. And you could increase it by collecting some puzzle or pieces of some artifact - like in original Soul Reaver you increased your health - and then when you had more energy you could remain in flight longer - thus it would allow you to explore new areas.

Also her animations should be some "predatory crouch" - something like Bodhi has from Bladur's Gate at artworks, but with wings of course.

And also she should be able to use different weapons - again like in first soul reaver, so you would have spikes, swords, maces, etc... and you could kill vampires(or yourself) by throwing them into sunlight(breaking through "holes" in that shroud from furnace towers), water, fire, or even some awesome "fatalities" where instead of just throwing enemy at spikes she would pick him up and fly over it to impale him and then drink his blood or something. I know the animators must be now going mad, as such things are difficult to made lol.

Also besides flying you should get some temporal entry into spirit world - where it would too drain energy,,but you could walk underwater or pass through bars.

Not to derail your conversation, but there aren't any official Razielim pictures; generally everything claiming to be of them is a fan-art or is improperly labelled, or someone's 'best guess' as to what an image represents. So don't take that image too seriously as an official depiction (nearest I'd be prepared to accept is the Arnold Ayala concept arts, but once again, those aren't labelled and are simply interpretations of an unclear image.)

Of course one of the main attractions of the Razielim is because of their lack of exposure and because of this we know virtually nothing about them; creatively you could potentially do all sorts with the Razielim and not infringe other stories too much.

And Bazielim i seen that art, it all looks fantastic - even that bat-like Razielim, if that is it at all of course. The females - i think they would be either a mini boss or enemies at Mountain Retreat of Kain, at the end of the game. Overall i am completely in love with that almost 'H.R. Giger' style of art that Soul Reaver 1 has. Now that if the game took again place in SR1 time, they could used all this unused artwork and ideas, that have`t made it to the final game - like the towers of Cathedral of Silence, Turel's Lair, Temple of Vampires, Kain's Mountain Retreat, and even some areas that we got to know in later games - like Janos Retreat and ruined cities - of Avernuss or that Wil...something and the one where Nemesis came from. And of course - Meridian.

And that lack of exposure - yes, if Raziel got a daughter that lived up for those 1000 years or how much he spend in the Abyss, she probably still would`t be evolved(or devolved - depends on the view) as other clans - as she would`t follow Kain anymore. She could still look like general vampires - like we see them in BO2 or opening scene of SR1, but then that would be a miss on chance to create another super unique and mystic hero - just like the developers already did when they made Raziel and new Kain.

what if some of the Razielim werent killed but evolved like raziel and found an escape to the spectrel realm

There is no "escape" to the Spectral Realm, unless by way of death (separating the soul from the body). Melchiah, whose soul Raziel took to gain the ability to go Spectral, only could momentarily phase into that plane. However, no being, besides Demons, have been shown to be able to pull their actual bodies into Spectral (and who knows what the Demons bodies are made out of in the first place, being from another realm, themselves). Raziel even has to shed his makeshift body that he creates every time he is forced, or decided, to go into that realm. Nothing physical will go. You can say the Razielim escape there if their souls are lingering, but really how is that any different than them being dead in the world of Nosgoth, as their bodies are dead in that plane, and if they linger in Spectral too long, they become the vampire wraiths you see in SR1?


I wouldn't mind some escapees in that era, though, just not for them to be in Spectral. Maybe they're hold up in some remote and uncharted mountain cave system, or underground, etc.

Raziel, a wife? Probably not. For Nosgoth also, that wouldn't probably be labeled evil, just insane. I'm sure Raziel would simply laugh at her and kill her to put her out of her misery, lol
