Default Changing Mission Difficulty

So I had played Thief 3 through on normal on my old computer. After installing it on my fancy new PC, I went to play it again after going through the first two in the series.

I also found out that I could not change my difficulty to Hard, or Expert for my second play through. This was upsetting. Just wanna know how to get my difficulty up cause the only one highlighted is normal and I already did that on my other computer.

I know this is an old part of the forums in light of T4 coming around soon, but would love to get some help on this.

You can only change difficulty at the main menu BEFORE you start a mission. The street settings are always on NORMAL.

Ah I see my error, I was trying to difficulty settings on the first mission/training. Makes sense why that would only be set to normal. Thanks for posting anyway, I am glad some taffers still lurk around here.

Aha! You did not say that. I just thought it was a mission further along. Had you said the "Training" mission I would have given you a better answer.

And, of course, the training is always on NORMAL, as was TDP,
