Thanks. |

Have you tried installing the newest NVidia driver?
How about verifying the game files in Steam? |

Yeah I have tried both of those things I can run the game when unchecking DX11 on setup, then restarting the game, but I can play other games on DX11 without a problem. Only when DX11 is checked do I get "Failed to initialize Direct3D with current settings" I have installed the latest DX9 (which some people said would solve it) but still nothing :S |

You aren't on a system with Lucid Virtu or NVidia Optimus technology, are you?
If so, it might be that the game (or maybe Steam) has trouble activating the discreet GPU and tries to access the internal GPU in your Sandy Bridge CPU. Try disabling Steam Overlay, running the game as admin or starting it in windowed mode. There are several other post from people with yout problem around. Try a forum search with your error message, should turn them up, maybe you can find some help there. EDIT: I think you are. This is likely the reason. Guess the game (or Steam) tries to access your GPU before Virtu activates the discreet GPU. Maybe there is a way to turn it off or turn on the GPU manually, but I've got no experience with it. |

I don't know if i have nvidia optimus, but I do have Lucid Virtu Mvp, and without directx11 checked, the game does load with virtu mvp working fine I have searched the forum and the web, most answers are ATI drivers being updated, or that the graphics card is outdated etc, which don't apply to me ![]() thanks |

As I said I've no experience with Lucid Virtu, but maybe it's possible to turn it off in the BIOS and switch your pc to the GTX550.
Might be worth a try, as long as you don't need QuickSync for encoding videos you will probably be fine without the internal GPU of your CPU. |

Hi,
It unfortunately is a known problem that there are problems playing DX:HR in DX11 on systems with Lucid Virtu. We have brought this issue to their attention and they are looking into it. There should be a setting to have Lucid default to the Nvidia GPU, using that will likely resolve it. If you continue to have problems it is probably best to contact Lucid for support. |

Hey there,
sorry for the late reply I do have lucid logix MVP on, and for Deus ex HR I have it set to D-mode with the monitor plugged into the dedicated card, which means it should go to the Dedicated GFX card and then use the integrated one, but for some reason it isn't doing that on this game :S I disabled lucid MVP and the game works fine in DX11 Thanks for the replies and all the help |
