So, it was not so easy for me))Actually, i only had experience in wood polishing before it and painting on wood. One of my friend is a specialist on woodcarving, he has special machine for it. With his help I could do wooden basis. It was just a little challenge for me. The doll basis was waiting to be painted may be half of a year. Only when I saw information about this competition "By hand" the idea of this Lara doll came to me and the conception of the entry.
Every doll consisting of two parts, so it should be grind into two steps. It is made from cylindrical blanks (I hope i have chosen the right word for it). The blank should be strengthen in the machine, then centered and smooth out the butt. Then, in accordance with the sketch , you should made rough grinding of the head. Next, you should work with the inner cavity. And so on ) The last step is one of my favorite- polishing with special finishing paper that will delete all disadvantages, that can change the form as you wish, and that will make the surface smooth. After it my favorite processes: drawing by pencil on wooden basis and then covering it with gouache and acrylic paint. I spent approximately one week to finish it)

Thanks a lot!=) I just couldn't decide what kind of doll it will be:may be doll in traditional Russian dress or something modern, thats why I postponed it. The idea came suddenly. Sometimes it is better to wait till the good moment, I think!))
I have more some wooden stuff at home, may be one day it will refer to Lara Croft too .

Dali is one of my earliest influences, I have many art books and reproductions.

What picture should I put? First picture was taken after the second. The second photo was made just with the pen and the first was made with photoshop but after the first . If I will put the first photo with some photoshop I will be disqualified I know the fact that I use photoshop program but I made it with my mouse So hand was used in both cases. I expect an answer.Thx.
