For some reason I find this question really annoying. I've never really given a damn about any character in Tomb Raider, and I liked that. It gives all the attention to the locales and adventuring.

But by that logic:
1. Lara - I wouldn't be able to play without her. Originally she was good acting as a storyteller. I didn't like how she changed in AoD and beyond though.

2. Pierre - A simple rival. If Tomb Raider needs to have human enemies it should be rival tomb raiders. Resourceful, skilled and proper challenge for Lara without wandering into the themes of good vs evil. Just a man versus a man.

3. Natla - She gives us the first mission and she helps to connect the locales and events. She doesn't interfere much and offers a nice end. I didn't care for her in Underworld though.

I think it's a bit too early to include characters from the new game because it hasn't been released yet.

Lara would be the number one so I have chosen other characters for my list ^^

1. Amanda Everett. I think she's probably the most interesting foe Lara's come up against so far. Not the creepiest or most powerfull, no, but psychologically I think she has/had more going on then all the others. I liked the fact that her conflict w/ Lara wasn't just "business as usual", it was personal. And to a certain extent, she was quite relateable as well. Who hasn't been screwed over (or felt screwed over) by a friend before? The other badies were cool, but Amanda stands alone.

2. Pierre. Not so much the way he was portrayed in the original TR or in "Chronicles", but more how he was in "Anniversary". He was your typical "business as usual" baddie, but at the same time I got the impression that he's a very cool cat and had probably lived a VERY interesting life and seen alot of strange things. I think it's a shame he was killed off, 'cos I'd have liked to have seen a bit more of him at some point, could've been cool if handled proper, but I'll never forget his death. One might say the only more epic death is that of a crocodile in the original TR.

3. Alister Fletcher. He was just a nice guy. And nice guys are something of a rarity nowadays. And as "uptight" or "stiff" as he could come across, I bet he'd be alot of fun to get drunk at a bar with. I bet he unwinds hardcore. Probably not intentionaly tho. I picture him like the dude that starts out saying: "ok, I'll just have one and then I gotta go home", then ends up dancing on a pool table to the *cat Dolls' "Buttons" after 3 hours and 7 beers.

#1 Amanda Evert - I don't think I really need to explain how much I love her. I am probably known as "The Crazy AE Fangirl" amongst this community.
#2 Winston Smith - Because he never judges anyone right away, he watches in the background and later concludes his opinion.
#3 The Force Monster - I think the wraith is a character by itself - very powerful and menacing, but we never exactly know on who's side it is. Was it under Amanda's control or was it simply allowing itself to be controlled?
