I've been interior designing today, I haven't removed the panels so the photos are fairly close up but I'll take some more at a later date.

I'm curious, what do you do? If you don't mind me asking....

Thanks Driber.

I'm a freelance graphic designer, more used to Photoshop than construction, but in the past I have been a set designer for theatre productions and learned how to cast whilst at University where I specialised in three dimensional art as part of my final exam. I sort of threw everything I knew how to do into a bag with all the bits I knew I could buy or make then shook it up and this is what came out

I'm fairly new to gardening, I've been in this house for 8 years and the first 6 years the garden was left to grow wild. I literally had chest high grass! I decided that if I made the garden two thirds impressive hard landscaping and one third planting areas then even if I turned out to have black fingers rather than green it would still have a certain impact.

The Tomb Raider theme was there right from the word go, I wanted to create a small space that looked like it had been taken over by the jungle wilderness and been 'discovered'. The planting needs a few years to catch up but it should look great by 2016 and grow to be a very private, enclosed and peaceful area to relax in.

I'll be casting some suitable stone benches shortly and they will run for 3.5m along the back wall of the Temple, creating a sheltered seating area in summer and a raised level for plants during winter.

I'm also going to artificially age all the stone using the yoghurt, compost and blended moss trick but I'll need a couple of dry weeks for that. April showers at the moment here.

I still admire how you made those doors look so natural with plastic. May I ask, how much did those smaller decorations cost?

Thanks Ivana

Which smaller decorations? The Tomb Raider Land Rover badges?

I've just had an idea of how to make that water barrel fit in better with the design

Watch this space!

I did a bit of tidying in the garden this morning and took the camera for a brief wander around:

BIN

hehe, nice video, GBUK!

It was fun seeing everything together in moving form. I also really dig the shallow pond.

Sounds like it's quite noisy there. Are you living down town?

And I noticed a brief appearance of Miss Croft, hehe.

The last few seconds of the vid also got me curious to see how the inside of your Humble Abode looks like

Haha, you noticed the bin comment! I really need to move that!

The traffic noise you can hear is from a motorway which runs past the bottom of the street but it's fairly rural where I am.

Just for you Driber, here's my workspace:

@GoggleboxUK
I think Meagan's got a competitior for ''Most Tomb Raider-surrounded workplace' (That lifesize statue counts for freaking 100 small statues lol)

Thanks LL. I've got a few more bits to go in the cabinets soon, I'm just waiting for some acrylic clear shelving and my 61 Atlas Editions will be going in.

I've also got the new Sideshow Guardian of Light Premium statue on its way from the USA and a lovely looking Japanese PC edition of Legend which has an exclusive book and figure.

I've got another TRII poster to go up, just waiting for the frame, and the official Eidos PlayStation memory card from TRIII that Meagan mentioned recently.

Thanks Driber.

We've had a week of rain here in the UK so haven't been able to do much more than plant a couple of Red Bananas but it looks like the warm, dry weather may be returning now.

If it stays dry I can get around to casting the benches and planting out a few more palms.

I've added a mixture of moss and yoghurt to the front columns to hopefully speed up the aging process.

I've added some plants to the statues at the front to naturalise the look a little more.

The weather is starting to warm up and dry out a little now so I should be able to get some more work done.

I found this pic from last year and thought I'd share it with you all.

This is before I'd removed the trees to start on the Temple. It was the height of summer and everything was looking full and green so I really felt that Lara was casting her shadow over the garden for the first time so I photoshopped a pic to demonstrate how I was feeling.

That's looking really nice! I love that last pic you took

Will you remove the plants from the pots at some point?

Yogurth and moss.... That would be a nice way to age some of my clay works

No, they'll have to stay in the pots because they won't survive if planted out as they are used to Tropical climates and the cold and wet of a British winter wouldn't do them any good at all.

If you want to age clay you'd be better off using off milk mixed together with just a little soft mud. Rubbing the models first with some juicy grass helps too.

I doubt that will happen Driber, the reason I built a Temple was to create a focal point that looked the same all year round. Most of the plants haven't started growing yet and the clocks go back in a month.

I hope we get a summer because spring has been like autumn here.

Great great pics, GoggleboxUK! Your garden is marvellous, wonderfully detailed and I bet in real life it looks ten times better than this
