1) Stop the game crashing hard in built up areas requiring cold reset of PC (didn't do it in previous patches)
2) Reduce stuttering, but if having stuttering as before stops the nasty crashes, i'll take stutters over the crashes
3) Crosshairs for Grenade Launcher, Laser Rifle etc would be nice, as having to guess all the time spoils it a bit
4) Laser upgrade to weapons should not make the targetting off when going into zoomed firing mode it should still be on target both ways.

That's a little defeatist, don't you think? And for the record, I know the industry. I've written for gaming magazines and websites. I've interviewed big names like Valve, and small names like Frictional Games.

And even now, with all the dumbing down and the sheer corrupting power of the major publishers, not all companies are so unresponsive and uncaring.

Meanwhile, as my own personal update to the glitch-ridden story of DX:HR -

My motherboard died recently. Given that hardware has moved on rather quickly, I found that the CPU socket would not support quad core processors, so figured it was false economy to get a replacement of the same mobo type and be stuck with an aging dual-core that might also die at any moment.

So I dipped into the christmas fund, and splashed out on a new mobo, CPU and RAM setup, essentially rebuilding the machine (and reinstalling windows from scratch).

New specs:

Intel i5-2500k (3.3GHz)
3.17 GB RAM (technically 4, but I'm still on a 32 bit system)
Radeon HD 4870 (same as before; it's a solid card).

New Results:

Though reduced by the new CPU, the stutter persists quite noticeably.
I've played a bit more of the game, and encountered yet more glitches, such as -

* Key bindings randomly rendered non-functional (using a custom binding for augs, I'd sometimes have to restart the game before the controls worked at all. Oddly, this glitch also rendered the original binding unresponsive).

* Quick save not functioning at random intervals (and not in moments where saves are prohibited)

* Muzzle flash on silenced weapons inverted/misaligned (tracer leading back towards player, flash itself above barrel)

* Rate of Fire upgrade on combat rifle causing loss of firing sound.

* Repeated graphics driver-related blue screens and Catalyst VPU recoveries when steam overlay is active.

* Mouse controls for looting often unresponsive; cannot click to close loot window, have to press escape.

And those are just off the top of my head.

I recently bought this game but cannot play it due to ridiculous in game lag/stutter, whatever you want to call it. There's also audio stutters in cutscenes. I've tried turning everything down/off/updated drivers/defragged/etc and it has little to no effect. I've been reading around and have not been able to find any fixes.

windows 7 x64
AMD FX-6100 sixcore 3.30ghz
8 GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6800

Quite a common problem at the moment,so join the club! Dont expect a patch any time soon,if at all.
Maybe if you're lucky, you might get directed to the eidos support page! Fingers crossed!

I've sifted through bunches of responses in different threads and websites and can't find if there's any word from the developers. Have they acknowledged this at all or mentioned a fix? I know there's been a patch previously addressing the problems I listed, but it doesn't seem to have fixed much...

Look...the best thing for us right now is to make eidos aware of this problem,as from what i've just read, they do not read the forums. So best bet is to go through they're tech support site, and email them with a dxdiag.
Hopefully everyone with this issue emails them, just to bump up the awareness.

Well I've done my part and emailed them my dxdiag and the run down of the problem myself and tons others are having.

I've exchanged emails with Square Enix and they proved to be no help at all. Whoever was assisting me insisted my drivers were not updated (which they were) and suggested I contact AMD tech support to see if there was anything wrong.

Sure enough AMD confirmed my drivers were all updated and suggested I try downloading an addon to improve performance, but that didn't have any noticeable effect.

It appears Deus Ex will forever sit in my Steam library unplayed.

Default Will there be another patch to fix the game ?

Hi there. Please if any of the developers or forum admins read this,WILL there be another patch fixing the game ?

I have asked many many times and it seems that it,the game is abandoned and that saddens me a lot..
I was one of those that bought the game the first day, actually i bought it twice(the augmented edition too) and gave the one copy as a present.I finished the game once and i must be honest i managed to finish the game without any problems and the game was most of the time quite smooth.Actually i too had some stuttering problems but they were confined to only some loading points so i was not really bothered by them. When i saw the game on my nephew the game was stuttering a lot but i thought it was his computer. After checking in the forums only then i realized how many people experience so many problems. It is sad that an otherwise incredible game is plagued by so many problems and they have not been fixed yet.
Also what bothered me personally was that the game was chock full of really low resolution textures. There were so many otherwise incredible locations that felt real but were ruined by unreadable ,blurred posters/books/wall screens, and even some characters with almost ps2 like texturing.....

If the above problems were fixed i would state dx3 as simply the greatest game of the last 10 years....But as it is now it stands as a good but not the great game it should have been. The story is excellent, the gameplay is excellent, the music and voice overs are great, the art design is excellent but...the game is buggy and because of poor texturing it often looks dated.

So ....if anybody hears this...PLEASE PLEASE at least give it another go with another patch.

I too was hoping for another patch.
While I didn't have serious technical problems either, I would have liked to see some tweaks and balancing (esp augs and weapons).
It seems very strange that a successful game should be abandoned after not even half a year.
But maybe that's just where the industry is now? Make money fast and then move on to the next thing, nothing to gain from supporting the old stuff?

After the in-game ads issue and now this complete silence my opinion of Eidos is not exactly the best anymore.

You seem to be right my friend and i am really sad. From the one hand dx3 is among the best experiences i had the past few years but at the same time its a huge mess.A lot of people simply gave up on playing it as it was basically unplayable and from what i understand even monster computers have problems with it.I somehow was lucky to have a relatively bug free experience and the stuttering was very limited to loading sectors(that's why it didn't bothered me really that much). But even i hoped the game was treated better for the pc users(better texturing/models etc..) that also were the majority of deus ex 3 buyers ....

Some may say i should be grateful that we did get a third game at all,but i don't feel that way. When i payed a good amount of money as a lot of other people is it so bad to expect some support after the release ?

Say what you want for other companies and games but some have given an incredible amount of support. Were to begin ? Crytek kept supporting crysis 1 for a long time and for crysis 2 they released a huge texture megapack that increased the resolution for all the textures in the game. Also it added higher polygon models and along that there were other improvements.Medal of honor airborne had a huge amount of improvements as call of duty world at war. Both good games at launch but after some huge updates they were elevated to great games. The same with frontlines fuel of war ,call of duty modern warfare 1/2 and i expect also now 3.The same with many other games so why deux ex was abandoned ?

If anybody of the original developers still exist here PLEASE PLEASE release at least on final update even if it only slightly improves things.

Default there may be hope for a new patch?

As you may or may not know Feral Interactive has been working on porting DX:HR to Mac,which will get released as ''ultimate edition'' on April 26.

now this is for Mac why would they give 2 s about PC? Well if the port comes out good i dont see many problems (except Square Enix lol) throwing their OpenGL solution to PC,since mac is basically identical under a different OS.

the current PC version runs half decent on dx11 and dx9 is a stuttery mess (varies per individual) with other host of problems.

anyway,do you think its a possible solution? or should i just put away my pink colored glasses and accept we got the short end of the stick on a PC Classic yet AGAIN?
