Any timeline in September, October, and November un-doubted it will meets some heavy competition that's a no brainer. It shouldn't be anywhere in the Summer either. I'm talking about ACIII, Bioshock Infinite if it get push back that far. Of course, most likely another installment of Call of Duty or Battlefield if you can believes that.

Personally, i think the re-boot TR can stand toe-to-toe. All because, of the new image of Lara Croft plus if i'm mistaken reading somewhere they using the same... um what?---software/ engine created for Deus Ex Human Revolution. So yes i'm interested. It's on my list must buy game.

^ Actually, it's the other way around, hehe.

DX:HR uses a modified version of the Crystal Engine (the engine used for TR Underworld)

Default Tomb Raider Delayed to 2013?

From German videogamemagazine Gamestrend claims to have a source at Square Enix who told them that the new Tomb Raider game isn't going to be released in 2012 anymore. They say the game is slated for a 2013 release.

From-
http://translate.google.de/translate...n&hl=&ie=UTF-8
-----------------------

The new Tomb Raider is getting ready to start? Absolutely not. It takes quite a while. The game will be released until 2013.

Actually, we had high hopes in Lara Croft, but the good lady will disappoint us this year, probably through non-attendance. In our annual preview, we had the good lady even mentioned. Is indeed common knowledge that a new Tomb Raider is in development. A reboot of the series. With a new Lara. One overhauled.

And will officially be an archaeologist still appear 2012th Officially. Unofficially, however, it looks different. How did we get from a confidential source at publisher Square Enix in experience, the developers of everything from Crystal Dynamics, Tomb Raider in fact be complete this year. But that would be extremely difficult. All signs point until 2013.

Our source also confirmed that Tomb Raider is reckoned internally from a financial point of view until 2013, which speaks in turn actually already safe for the coming year. 2012 So no one should really come from a release of Tomb Raider.

Reasons for the shift is not official? It's available. The new engine makes the developers more work than I thought. In order for the new Tomb Raider might actually get loaded into the longest development history of the series on the hump. All the same, thus the game would appear at the end to match the upcoming Tomb Raider movie.

The topic is spicy but in any case, especially since Crystal Dynamics still seems to work on another project, but the company hopes to be able later this year a further announcement made.

It doesn't seem legit, they can't have had technical faults to make them delay it untill 2013. If they do, they are making a HUGE mistake. Honestly, this is just BS rumors just for website views. Looks like they were successful, awaiting an official reply.

Let's keep calm!

There's no reason to freak out until we hear some official comment on this.

I am from Germany and this website is not from one of the biggest gaming magazines in the country. I don't think that they are the first ones to get this information. I hope this isn't true although I prefer a goog game from an early released game with bugs...

interesting that this is not the only TR forum where I have seen this supposed information today. From what i can tell this is only a RUMOR, and should be treated as such, until either confirmed or denied by Crystal. I also have issues with trusting information provided by annonymous "sources".

I agree; I highly doubt this is real, otherwise we would've heard something official.

I'll ask Meagan, to be sure.

Thanks. 4 years wait already and one more year seems difficult for me.

BTW, I asked Karl when it was daytime in USA, 9 hours ago. He ignored my question about Tomb Raider but replied me when I asked him about Manchester Derby match today.

I agree that a 4 years wait is enough for them. If there are problems then they can't do anything about a delay, they cannot afford another delay if they want to keep fans happy. If they delay it then they will need to be prepared for raging fans. I am not too excited yet, but with no new info, the silence. It could well be true but the source that confirmed doesn't seem legit.

Maybe Karl does not have the information? Maybe he's not allowed to say, there are somethings people just can't say officially without permission, proof no matter who they are. Since this is troubling the community so bad, i bet the community manager can confirm whether this is true or not when she's ready.

Well, there will always be raging fans; that's nothing new

(Not to downplay anyone's disappointment if release date is indeed moved back, just saying that fans will always find something to be angry about if it doesn't go exactly according to their wish)

TBH, a pushed back release date would be the least of my worries with this reboot. I am much more concerned about what kind of Lara we are going to see and what CD has in store about her future.

As always, I'm happy to wait and sit through any release date delay when it's for the good of the game at the end of the day.

If CD decides that they would need another half a year to polish the game, then I will not be one of those raging fans. All I care about personally is a good game

Yeah, I can't understand why people get so upset about that XD It's like TR franchise are the only games in the world and we can't play anything untill a new game is released... There are other great games coming out which will fulfill my needs (that sounds odd ) until TR comes out and I can always replay previous games if I find myself missing Lara
It's certainly not worth of freaking out and 'raging'

I'm not in much of a rush for it myself, if they delay it then it's their problem. I've seen the amount of rage on other forums though. I am just interested in new pictures, videos etc. It does suprise me since they've never actually delayed anything before... That's if it's true....

LOL.

About Engine problem that site mentioned(if it really is the reason):
Nobody wants it to a buggy game. But they already took 4 years and planned this release date from a long time ago. So why it would be delayed! Its not like this is completely new engine for them neither it is Frostbite 2 or Cry Engine so that it is very difficult for them to solve it. Besides we have seen a very polished game at E3. And from other reviews after E3, the game is now much more polished than before, its like very living. Moreover from Karl & Meagan's post 7 days ago, they are very excited with Tomb Raider this year. And with this is 20th anniversary of CD, they should not delay.

And IF next gen PS & XBOX revealed this year's E3 then CD should release it this year or it will be difficult to compete with others with this type of graphics.

Personally I think CD should concerned about gameplay, story than graphics. A very good gameplay can be forgettable of graphical problems. I am still positive about Fall 2012 release date though.

Then I guess I should be glad to be a part of this community, where the far majority of members are level headed and calm people

Are you kidding me? IIRC, both CD and Core have pushed back release dates of many TR games in the past. This would hardly be anything out of the ordinary.

Same goes for many other game developers, BTW, not just CD.
