Woah, for a game with such an great opener, they sure ruined the ending and practically made it worse than Asylum's ending, who could have thought that? I mean, hear me out:

The final dialogue exchange between Batman and the Joker is great, but then when he dies, it just gets melodramatic, does anyone here believe that Batman would feel it's more important to carry his corpse, instead of trying to find Talia al Ghul or well, why would Batman even care a damn about the Corpse, honestly? It all comes off awfully melodramatic and the ending doesn't even touch upon the antidote for Gotham citizens, how will they get the cure now? It's never said in the writing, so the consumer (us) are forced to make the answers ourselves, thats bad writing.

Still i really enjoyed the story, it was great and all these wonerful sub-missions with iconic comic characters is fantastic for me, who could have thought one of my favourite new Batman characters was in this, awesome! <3

Well, I thought the ending was fantastic. Batman carrying the Joker's corpse and silently placing it on a cop car was very effective. Sure, I guess it was melodramatic, but Batman is a melodramatic character. The ending was way better than Asylum's and calling it worse/ruined is somewhat of an overexaggeration, but hey, it's your opinion. Nonetheless, awesome game. The experience was somehow pretty different from AA for me despite the basic mechanics remaining the same. I believe I enjoyed it more than AA, but like I said, different in a lot of ways. They're both some of my favorite games ever, though.

It was an EPIC ENDING!

The cure is in batman's blood. Fox could extract it and create or they could use more of Ra's blood since he is simply hanging around! Batman knows talia would get revived and Joker is Batman's only true friend...and vice versa. AND WHY IS IT SUDDENLY BAD WRITING FOR THE CONSUMER TO MAKE ANSWERS??? Nolan did it perfectly in Inception, whats wrong with it here???

Oh and the Corpse reflects the beginning of the game

The sheer respect they have for one another is astounding. On multiple occasions joker could kill batman or reveal his identity but he chooses not to. They are both a bit insane to an extent. Its their way of showing that Batman cares more about Joker than he does about Talia.

Not really, I think it may have something to do with:

The League still being present in Arkham City. Ra's and Talia are like Gods to them, they will collect their own, and most likely revive them. As for Joker, I really wish we could've seen Harley's reaction to his death. Has anyone seen Harley's Pregnancy test?

We did see Harley's reaction, she was in the crowd when he carried Joker out.

Regarding the ending again:

It just isn't my Batman to have him carry Joker so melodramatic, i prefer the Batman who would just throw the corpse to the trash can or spit on his body as a goodbye, it just feels wrong to not have him try and search for Talia al Ghul, because who knows she might be blown to bits? But nah Batman just lets her corpse to rot lol, and theres no conclusion to the cure, yes we can debate he gets the blood from somewhere, but what if the ending is suppose to be a sad one and that Batman failed? Theres no clear indication and thats what makes the ending so weak for me, yes Dark Knight put it nicely that the 1st games ending was very superheroic and all, but it was a nice finale between good and evil, here they have a great dialogue banter, but then it goes all melodramatic.

Comparing this with Inception leaving an open ending is bad, because it resolves the story and ultimately it's not about is it a dream or reality, it's that Dicaprio's character is finally happy.

Still man oh man do i love this game, loving how immersively detailed they are, and regarding these sub missions:

Paul Dini's Hush is intriquing and awesome. <3 ALSO AZRAEL! One of my favourite characters, i'm so happy.

PS. If someone can post on a spoiler tag, but is there anywhere in the game that tells who putted the glass on Penguin's eye? I'm really intriqued who did that to him, i have an assumption only lol.

Well who doesn't expect some melodrama with Batman? Its arguably a defining trait of not only the character but of the franchise as a whole.

I thought it was nice that Batman was affected more by the Joker's death than by Talia's. We don't know the specifics of Batman and Talia's relationship but I think its most likely that Joker was, for better or for worse (mainly worse), a more significant part of his life than Talia was and with Joker gone that chapter of his life is over. Its a big deal and an emotional one and I'm not sure Batman would quite know how to handle it. As far as Talia and the rest of Gotham goes, it shows on his face as he walks out of Arkham City and I think thats enough.

Well, it's like one of the thugs in Arkham City says. "So Joker's dead, huh? End of an area, man. End of a freakin' era."

And yeah, Paul Dini's Hush is really awesome. Heart of Hush was definitely a really cool story. It makes sense that he might return to the character through this series of games. It would make sense for Hush to be the front man for the villains in the next game what with Joker being dead and all.

Did anyone else wish Hugo Strange got a lot more screentime? I wish there was like a mission where strange sends gaurds to recapture you after a while since you are ruining things, or you have to infiltrate a secret location to stop strange from interrogation someone

Regarding Hugo:

I kind of wish we would've been able to fight Hugo, considering how it's constantly referencing the "trained his body to physical perfection" in his bio/attributes.

Yeah i was surprised we didn't get a Predator map kinda challenge with Hugo, i really assumed we'd see him in a Batman costume

At this point, I'm just glad I can get back on a regular schedule now after playing loads of Arkham City over the last few days.

Loved the story, loved the gameplay, loved the side missions, loved Mr. Freeze,etc
Finale spoilers:

I can go on for a while... and that's just on Mr. Freeze, but I'd say the ending was one of the best I've seen in a while. Joker's dead and Batman carrying him out was very apt when thinking about their relationship.

However, Somehow I don't think Joker is truly dead. If he is then bravo Rocksteady you've actually done something interesting with the characters in killing one off and not just bringing them back from the dead.

Also, if anyone has seen the Riddler's character trophy in Arkham City, that's gonna be my new avatar forever. It's that great!

actually most of the riddles unlock stories the bridge the gap from the first game. Cool Fact those crazed inmates that Joker released were actually Strange's puppets from his experiments

DO NOT READ MY POST IF YOU HAVENT FINISHED THE STORY

Well I finished the game last night (at least for Batman's portion) and I was totally blown away by the Clayface reveal. It was quite an interesting fight to say the least, though a bit easy once you figured out how to beat him. It wasn't like Mr. Freeze where you had to actually switch up your tactics. *That* boss fight was amazing. It will be hard to imagine how they can make that any harder with New Game +, Freeze took me a while to think about all the various takedowns I could use to defeat him.

Anyways, about the ending. Eh....I'm kinda with Drazar. I mean, I understand how they killed off the Joker (allegedly), but the ending just seemed so dull at the end. They were building it up the entire game as though some absolutely masterish plan was afoot, and all Joker really wanted was a cure for his illness? Somehow I feel like something was left out, and it kinda left me with an "Are you kidding me?" when the credits were rolling. The whole idea behind Arkham City (Strange being puppeteered by Ras al Ghul) was an interesting twist, but the story was built around the Joker having some much more awesome scheme involved. I get that he was trying to use the Lazarus Pit to make himself immortal, but that story happened as a result of Talia coming to rescue Batman. I highly doubt that was Joker's initial plan.

I also thought it was disappointing that we do not get to fight Hugo Strange in some sort of battle in his tower. After that gruelling climb, I was hoping we would have to deal with his Monster serum or something to really wear Batman out for his final bout with Joker.

All in all though, I thought the game was great. The villains that are present are certainly capable of telling a great story, and the bonus content (which hardly half of it is unlocked/discovered) will last me a while longer yet (also, New Game+). I only managed to find about 25% of the Riddler trophies, so Rocksteady did a damn fine job of making this game a challenge.

I just have one question; why did Batman just walk off when Gordon asked him what happened? Do you think that Batman was emotional about the fact that the Joker died? Can that really be counted as Batman's fault too (his first 'kill'), since he was holding the cure from Joker before it broke? I was trying to figure out if he was just so emotionally exhausted too that he just didn't want to talk to anyone, and just wanted to go home. I found it weird though that he wouldn't even acknowledge Gordon when leaving Arkham City.

Batman ignored Gordon because his was an emotional wreck. Archnemesis dead, girlfriend dead, 2000 people in Gotham dead.

Yea, you almost have to wonder if Batman feels like he failed overall despite stopping the various criminals and plots in Arkham City. Batman always seems to be the kind of guy who feels like he can stop anything from happening. Protocol Ten certainly was something that he never could have anticipated, and he probably regrets not going after Hugo Strange sooner.

He indeed failed to have a back up cure, gosh i wish this was made more clear, i don't mind the idea of Batman failing at all in saving, it will bring up an interesting setup alongside Azrael and others.

PS. is your Wolverine Omnibus also still in Mint condition?
