Okay, I have the game installed on my laptop and it runs flawlessly at the very highest settings, Now here is the dumb question: Is there any way to NOT launch the game through Steam and to have a Just Cause 2 Icon to launch the game on my desktop? I ask because as long as the ONLY STEAM game I have happens to be JC2, it is easy to keep track of, but I honestly am a little gaming old-fashioned and I want to have game icons on my desktop, NOT have to load up some secondary program with a list of the games I own and launch it from there.

I don't see how this can work without running steam. You need to run an exe within the game folder to even attempt to run it outside of steam. (if you right click and create shortcut.)

On2wheels, I didn't know this when I created the thread, but apparently it will run through Steam, only you can also have a desktop icon specific to the game as I do now. When I followed lukeman's directions, all it did was put the Just Cause 2 (and Saint's Row 2) icon on my desktop, but it opens in Steam even when I click on the desktop game icon and not on Steam.

Just keep in mind, that even though the icon is on your desktop, steam still MUST BE running in order to play the game,
