Yesterday the latest patch was released. Unfortunately at the same time I switched my XFX HD6970 to a MSI HD6970 (Lightning version). I sold my XFX, so I cannot swap those cards back again.
Before the patch and with the XFX, I could simply select HD3D and it worked (I had to switch crossfire off). Now with the MSI and the new patch the option stays greyed out, whatever I try. I have a crossfire setup, but obviously I disabled that to try HD3D. I use a Displayport 1.2 connection to my 120Hz 3D monitor. Monitor is fine btw. I didn't change anything else on my pc, including settings. I already reinstalled ATI 11.8 drivers, I am using the latest game profiles, I reinstalled the game. I don't see any more options, even the registry hacking didn't change anything (stereomode to 0,1,4) The registry-entry will change back to 0 everytime. Could it be the patch? Or maybe the Lightning version videocard? SOLLUTION I was digging the internet for this, and after some time I found the following in the changelogs of AMD driver versions: - the 11.8 preview drivers should add support for the Samsung A750 and A950 3D series monitors. - the final release of 11.8 doesn't mention any of this. I tested this stuff and found that the preview driver solved all the problems. My screen got recognized as a 3D screen by the drivers, and so Human Revolution found a 3D capable monitor again. This only applies to sequential mode, since other modes did work with my screen with all the drivers I tested. Strangely enough AMD cut the monitor support out of the final release. I don't know why, but I don't think it was necessary. I guess the support will be back in the 11.9 drivers, which should be released soon. Last edited by Tjeerd84; 09-17-2011 at 06:59 AM. |
