Default Questions About Pre-Order and System Requirements

Well i have searched for these answers and cant get a definite Yes or No, or Official Answer. So Let's Try Here.

1. Does The Augmented Limited Edition of Deus Ex: Human Revolution come packaged with the 2 Pre-order bonuses for the USA Release? (since i have seen images of a version in Europe that shows it comes with it)

2. Will Deus Ex: Human Revolution Run on Windows XP, or utilize DirectX9. This has been asked before, but i clearly can't see a company allowing pre-orders without atleast saying it will run on a certain Operating System atleast. I myself have Windows XP, let's say i pre-order this and it turns out i have to install a new OS, which isn't cheap mind you, and either reformat my computer or install it on a new partition. Which i see could had been avoided by telling the person that it wont run on XP. That way i could had just bought it for the Xbox360 instead or the PS3.

Thanks!

Yeah, good luck getting answers around here...

Regarding #2, since the game runs on consoles, I would be very, very surprised if it didn't run on DirectX 9/ XP.

It was PUBLISHED by the same company as DX, not made by the same company. It was made by Avalanche, and had significant graphical increases over the console versions, like SSAO. It was definitely one of the best-looking and playing games of the year, in my opinion. Micturated all over GTAIV.

On the downside, it ran pretty poorly on my PC, but at least there was a reason for it. CODBLOPS and Splinter Cell Conviction also run like dogs, but that's due to lazy porting, not for beastliness.

EDIT: I'm guessing it will have the options for DX11 effects (which the game will be using,) greyed out for XP users. Just Cause 2 was a bold move, and sold well, but it would've done a bit better if the effects were optional, not mandatory.

If you haven't gotten your answer it's because either A) The details are not finalized and or B) The person is getting an answer for you or is not able to answer at this time.

You're just going to have to wait for your answer. If you don't hear anything then you already know to get the bonus mission you must pre order from Gamestop. (U.S. stores only only) Stores in other regions seem to get both bonus content packs in the augmented edition but not the U.S. for some reason. Seems Gamestop struck some sort of deal stateside.

If the details are not finalized, then they should say so.

If they are finalized, I know where I'll be getting the mission. Hint: Not GameStop.

The most badly ported games I have seen in some time... performance-wise, anyway.

if Deus Ex: Human Revolution can be played on the Xbox 360, then it will use Direct X 9.

please stay on topic, and not make statements you cant not prove, like the 360 has it so its DX9, previous games have done this and not worked on dx9. Also Since the augmented version in the USA don't come with both packs, whose selling the tactical enhancement pack.

Lithos, i really hope your right and they allow for DX11 but still allow DX9 as well like Bioshock did DX9 and DX10.

Again: Just Cause 2.

Not that I doubt it will use DX9, but there is no cause to say for sure yet.

My PC: Will run Bioshock, at native res (1680x1050) 60FPS, decent level of AA (4x, it's enough,) and other bells & whistles. Will run Just Cause 2 at native res, SSAO, 2x AA, water physic, low shadows, at 60FPS in countryside, 30-40 in the cities. Will run Far Cry 2 at similar settings, 50-60FPS.

Splinter Cell Conviction performance: EVERY graphics option wound down to minimum, res at, no joke, 800x600. Result: 24FPS. 30 if I'm lucky.

CODBLOPS: everything minimum. Performance: unknown. It's hard to tell between all the cut scenes.

BLOPS actually shipped with multicore CPU support turned *off* and multi GPU support turned *on*. Because everyone knows that more people have Crossfire setups than multicore CPUs, right?

Yeah, I have a new GTX 480 and a quad processor and Conviction still runs like crap on my rig. It's just unoptimized garbage, same as Assassin's Creed 2. Both games have terrible mouse issues for me as well, though the previous games had perfect mouse support.

Ubisoft stopped trying on the PC altogether a long time ago, then at the same time put out one of the most horrible DRM systems you could ever think of. Disgusting.

I recommend you waiting for a reply from CoyoteGrey - aka Kyle - the forum moderator and Eidos employee.

He's our question-killer.
