God of War 3 Ending Discussion

So I just felt like making this thread for those of you who have beaten God of War 3. How did you feel about the ending? And have you watched God of War Directors Live and seen Jaffe's original ending? Discuss

I thought the ending was great , a fitting end to the story ...

Truth be told i was even spoiled that Kratos would die though it didn't matter much to me , because ever since God of War II i always said that he was going to kick the bucket eventually , but to make his death into something meaningful ? whoa ... that was unexpected ... i mean tying it all up with the power of 'Hope' ? marvelous ...

I wasn't too fan about the post-credit scene however , that was really unnecessary ...

Unless it was just a baby Hydra who got hungry and dragged Kratos' body down to the sea and proceeds to eat him , now that would make sense ...

I wasn't fully satisfied with the overall story of God of War III either , but that would be off topic since you only ask about the ending ...

Haven't watched the God of War Directors Live yet , hell i didn't even knew about it until you mentionned in your post , will watch it later ...

I liked God of War 3, but the ending really seemed to be kinda lackluster in my opinion. The whole thing with Athena coming to take Hope from you for herself was a little "cheesy". I did like the fact they left it open for another game since we don't know for sure if Kratos really died or not.

One thing is for sure though, God of War series knows how to create some epic boss fight scenes.

I didn't think it cheesy since it still kept it mature when it came to a concept such as hope. I thought it was great. Do you guys want to know Jaffe's version he recently talked about? IMO, it's much worse than what we have now.

Ok here we go: Kratos would kill Zeus in the first few minutes of the game. This would create a vacuum and all the major gods from the Norse and Egyptian mythology would rush in while the Greek gods are fighting amongst themselves. And so you'd kill everything, and then Kratos would slit his wrists and die. But in the epilogue, some travelers would be shown following the North star displaying that even with all the gods dead, people still needed something to believe. Horrible story IMO. It would be akin to Spiderman 3

Sounds more like a spin-off , or the plot for God of War VI ...

Slit his wrist with a Quick Time Event ? that's gruesome ... and a bit stupid ...

I actually like this , mainly because it's quite true , there are people who 'need' to believe in this invisible hands in the sky ...

Like i said this might work if they're really running out of ideas and they just want a plot to justify the epic action on screen , but what we had for God of War III was far better , of course ...

Spiderman 3 wasn't bad, it was just overstuffed and an unfitting end to the trilogy, much like this potential story for GOW3. I agree that what we got was much better. He did say that he thought that GOW3's story and ending were brilliant, so it's not like his vision went completely unfulfilled.
