Default DX:IW won't install on Windows 7 32bit

Hi all,

i don't even get DX:IW to install on Win7. All it does is opening a window for less than a sec and saying "Program too big to fit into memory". I tried compatibility mode with any combination of settings possible, still get the same notice
Anyone an idea?

System: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+
Geforce 8800 GTS (320 MB)
2 GB RAM DDR2

Default A suggestion

OK. Here's a suggestion. This works with the original Deux Ex [2000] GOTY. I have never played IW so I don't know about that. Here goes...

1. Download VMware player [free]
2. Check that you have Windows 7 Professional or above as your current OS. [I suspect that home edition won't work for this.]
3. Start VMware Player.
4. At top of VMware Player screen go to file, then import Windows XP mode VM. Then it explains itself and you end up with a virtual OS of Windows XP Professional. Note that you do not need to have an iso of Win Xp or anything like that: you are just given the XP OS!
5. Now, boot up Win Xp in the virtual OS in VMware.
6. Put your Deus Ex disc into your host CD drive. The Deus Ex installation screen should pop up inside your Virtual XP OS. You might need to go into the CD part of XP; I'm not sure because I was doing that at the time.
7. Install Deus Ex onto virtual XP.
8. Play away! You will probably need to tweak for sound, display and screen size. Interestingly I found that the OpenGL display driver gives the best sound and display
despite it "not being recommended" in the Deus set up.
9. Enjoy!

Hope that helps!
p.s I think that I might have forgot is that you MIGHT need to put in the VMware tools for this. I'm not sure. But from memory when you install VMware the tools pop up and suggest themselves anyway.
