Default Just Cause 2 MULTIPLAYER mod

Just Cause 2 Multiplayer!

It seems the brilliant modders at MODMYWHAT.com are working on the most hoped-for addition to Just Cause 2.

Very exciting news, im glad that this is being worked on, do you think it will be an MMO? what type of game modes will there be? and most importantly will this make avalanche give us multiplayer in JC3? (like GTAIV was forced to after SA:MP)

Yeah if they do that mod this will be the best game ever

What do you think?

They can't release the mod, or make it fully online until Avalanche says they can, or if Avalanche releases all the coding for the game, all they have now is the basic scripts and skins, until the rest is released they can prepare to make it and get a plan but not make and release. Or Release even if they have it or Avalanche could sue

Great news. Too bad it's bogus though:

Guys, I asked Gunner on MMW this yesterday:

"Gunner, are you planning on doing anything with jc2mp.com? What about a Just Cause 2 mod site? JustCause2Mods.com is up now and I have a few mods uploaded already. Sure would like to see what you could put together for one on the new system."

and he said:

"just cause 2 wont have much mods so probably aint worth it. Donate 12 euros and ill set it up tho."

You may wanna take this off the news as I believe he just got the domain cause he could.

I also think Ricos_hair doesn't know what he is saying.

...You need a full set of scripts, codes and programming to make multilplayer, and unless Avalanche is ok with that they probably wont release the nessecary codes for multiplayer or any online functions.

the extent of this MOD is a title on a post that says JC2 Multiplayer. That is all that has been worked on, and I just did it in 20 seconds.

Anyone remember Oblivion? TES4 : Oblivion

It was a single player game, with a big world. It was only single player,no online game. And they did this http://csusap.csu.edu.au/~mloxto01/

Odd, when I was modding for Battlefield 1942, I didnt need any codes from Dice, It was only to go into the game files with a program and pick up everything you needed for a server-side mod.

Wow. Some people here really do not understand the concept of PC mods, modders don't need Avalanche's permission, sure the devs might be a bit annoyed but modders will mod games anyway and find a way around.

Didnt it turn out that the `news` of a multiplayer mod was actually based on a guess and that was shown to be wrong?

What if they just setup a Peer-to-Peer connection system in future DLC? Mercenaries 2 did it so it can't be THAT hard.

EDIT: I mean that as in Mercs 2 is a bad game so it must be doable...and doable right.

I'm one of the founders of modmywhat.com lmao, gunner started this back with the demo but haven't spoken to him much since.

EDIT: if anyone wants any questions answered then ask me cause I've got him on msn, steam and I have other ways of contacting him.

I've modded TES4 and FO3, while multiplayer can be implimented, it is severly limited, the engine is not very efficient to start with, there are just too many variables that need to be sent, if you read the rest of that link you will see that in effect the only thing hes got is a network link between two players and it's not even synced, now it might be possible to do the same thing for JC2, but since it's engine is much more complex than TES4 and FO3 I would not hold my breath.
