Just cause - menu probems - vista

Hello
When i load just cause on my system, it gets to the menu and starts to stutter.
It then just locks up and crashes.

Im using windows vista ultimate and here are my system specs:

Asus M3A
Amd 5000+
2gb Corsair (800 mhz) ram
400gb seagate sata II
EVGA 8600gts (1gb total memory)
Creative soundblaster audigy 7.1 surrond sound

Is anyone else having similar problems or does anyone know how to fix this?

Ive also tried it in xp compatability mode but it still doesn't work
