Using MAC savegames on a PC (Vista)

I have been plaing Imperial Glory on a MAC, and am quite a good way into my Campaign. I have copied the savegames into the MyDocuments/Imperial Glory Savegames folder but when I try to load a sacegame the game crashes. I have checked that the creation and mod dates are ok and they are. Any ideas, anyone? I understand that PC savegames copied across to MAC work ok, but why seemingly not in the opposite direction?
HELP!
