Invitation to a party: game crash before mission finish loading!

Hey all, I have a big problem here, I i'm now at the mission named: "Invitation to a party". But each time I clic on "Continue", it get me to the loading page, but while loading the game crash me to the desktop with no error message.

I have no idea on how or why this is happening. Can anyone here help me out? This is the first time the game is crashing.

My computer config.:

AMD 1.4 Ghz
Nvidia Gforce 2 MX 400
Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer
512 MB of Ram

I badly want to continue on with this great game.

Also, this is the second time it happen to me, my computer restart while i'm playing the game! What the hell is going on with this game? I think both time it was when I look at the map.

A lot of stuff could be wrong. Update your drivers, and after you do, reinstall DirectX 8.1. If you have XP (?) and you downloaded Nvidia detonator drivers, there are some compatiblity issues. [ Had some myself.] The only other thing would be to turn down some of the effects in the game. I had a problem with freezing which I solved by turning down the fancy stuff in the game. If those ideas dont work post your 'dxdiag' info and one of the computer geeks with help with the problem.

Before you respond, I had send en e-mail to Eidos support team and they give me this respond: might be a problem with the video card driver. They told me to use the driver that theyre is on Nvidia....I got one that I have found on guru3d.com so it might be that.....but why it would not work now? Well, i'll look into that tomorow.

Oh, sorry, did not mention, I got Win XP Pro.

damn it! why it don't want to work? I have reinstall a new video driver (now it's the one on the Nvidia site) + install the patch but it don't want to freggin work!
