tomb raider:chronicles ps1

i just recently purchased an old 'chronicles' and a ps1 formatted memory card...now i am having problems saving the game...i will get to a stopping point and want to save the game and all it will say is that the save was unsuccessful. do i need to get a blank memory card and try again? i have already figured out that it can't be saved on a ps2 formatted memory card. that much i have learned on my own. i would love to know, cuz i'm getting addicted to the game (like the other raider titles) and am getting tired of starting from scratch each time.

This most likely cased by a file system. Reformat the memnory card and try again.
If that doesn't work you should get a new card, probably on ebay or amazon.
