Default Batman 2 Ideas/Suggestions thread.

I know this may be pretty far fetched, but I think this would work really quite well with the next Batman game.

I think free roam would have to be really organized and not just random crimes happening like in Spiderman 2/3.
I know the godfather wasnt a great game... but think about the free roaming in that: You go take over a store front and then you go for its business.
It takes quite a while to go around to each individual place, once you have them all under your control you maintain them from attacking families which attack every once in a while.

So imagine being on the other side of that, think of Gotham as being full of illegal businesses, rackets, fight clubs, drug dealers, the black market, drug shipments, gun shipments, crooked clubs places like the iceberg lounge etc, - loads of stuff

So these sort of places are all dotted across gotham, I'll use an mob owned club as an example. As Batman you can travel to each of these and clear them out: You go in and take out however many waves of thugs there are, then when you're done you go to the manager of that particular club and take him out and leave the place for the cops.

This same thing could be done for all of the previously mentioned businesses, for the guns or drugs shipments and selling, you take out the thugs who are protection and then take out the head of that particular operation.

Sometimes the head/manager will flee in a vehicle... Batmobile? Batplane?, maybe even Batboat if its a drug shipment?

Each of these activities will be owned by certain over bosses, So for example - I'll use Penguin, Two Face and Black mask as examples. They own all these operations, all shared out across them. When you take down all operations owned by say, Two Face, You're given the chance to go for him.

Eventually you will have cleared up all the places, and they will become legitimate businesses - Legit clubs, legit shipments of whatever etc
Those will come under attack every so often by underlings of the incarcerated bosses, and your job is to protect them.

Of course these would only be side missions, there's room for a full storyline throughout - But i'll leave that to you guys, I'm no writer.

As for random crimes to keep you occupied: you'll get breakouts at arkham and people trying to take out the legit club owners, or trying to get more guns and drugs into gotham, shop robberies, bank robberies, muggings, car theft etc
It'll come up on police radio which you can intercept in your cowl as youre running along some rooftops explporing the hights, or perched on a gargoylee gargoyle looking over the city, or just cruising around in the Batwing or Batmobile
This could work a bit like true crime, you'll be given the crime and location and you head over there and sort it out.

That keeps you busy while theres no big things going on.

Wayne Manor and a Full Batcave:
Go back to and mix and match gadgets and vehicles, visibly upgrade the armour, do all kinds of tests (make the detective work a bit more in depth), or Learn new combos and stuff in the Dogo or increase your stats there (Only light RPG elements, maybe none at all).

These are just some of my ideas that I would personally love to see in the next Batman game.

Me too. But for now, I just want a trailer, but the suspense is still killerin' me. It'd be cool to travel from the Batcave to the manor above and vice versa, and...

Using vehicles to come out in different areas in Gotham!

I like the idea but i just hope we can fly the Batwing around and imagine gliding off a skyscraper similar to the clock tower in BAA 1.

Sounds good, as long as there is a seperate main story. I liked this system in Godfather, so it could work. Good idea.

This sounds, interesting for sure. It reminds me of how Sly 2 & 3 sort of played out too. I'd only agree to this if they did allow multiplayer and some sort of team up between allies allowing different playstyles and partnerships with a few allies. I'd mostly prefer Robin, Green Arrow, and let's not forget Catwoman. Unique characters from Batman, most of them would have unique gadgets (except for Robin, maybe color variations), and easily fitted into the Batman Universe. Nay, yay?

Well considering the whole of Gotham City is in play, surely Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, etc wouldnt just sit at home.
Co-op would be great. Split Screen would be impossible, but System Link and Online could work well. And if not story co-op, then 'Horde' mode would be good.

Didn't Arkham Asylum have something like a horde mode, it was that DLC challenge map with the endless thugs.

Default KillerCroc's Arkham Asylum 2 Multiplayer Idea Thread

So with the new announcement of the sequel o Batman: Arkham Asylum, new ideas are bound to pop up. So of course I'd think of some things I'd like to share with the rest of the Batcommunity. Now I have no doubt in my mind this will be open world, but hopefully this open world will have limits and not be empty like open-world games. First off, multiplayer.

Key Points
  • More than one ally to choose from
  • Keeping the Freeflow System intact
  • Keeping the Predator System intact

Allies and Co-op
Multiplayer, lots of people don't want it because Batman is supposedly a "lone wolf" but facts are, he isn't. Batman has had many comics and team-ups over the years giving him access to tons of DCU history, and pretty much having a universe of his own because of everything residing in Gotham.

*Allies*
Now, of course the main man for co-op would be Robin redone via Arkham Asylum style. Though I mean, why would you settle for just one character? Why not two, three, ten. Okay maybe ten is too much. With everyone Batman has come in contact with, he could have hundreds of allies, but why bother, it's Batman. But, Batman has had cool allies who would not be turned down for sure by most of you I bet. There will be a list of who you and I think would fit these systems accordingly.

Now these characters would just be other characters that could be upgraded and played as in Co-op and challenge rooms. Seperating single story missions and single based challenge rooms from the Co-op based ones.

*Freeflow and Predator System*
-Freeflow
Now, this would be the most difficult to accomplish. With the fast paced action that is this system, it would seem impossible. But Arkham Asylum was fully playable in a short amount of time, and they already have the system made, so why not tweak it? When let's say Batman and Robin both go towards the same target, why not some sort of duo attack? Nothing fancy, but just enough. Guards can target one of the other, maybe form circles around their target, just as they did in AA, except there would be two targets.

-Predator
This would be easily accomplished if they wanted it to be. Same way as in AA, except two people. When guards see one person, they don't see the other allowing tactics to be formed in substantial amounts. Of course the Freeflow system sometimes applies in Predator rooms, so that would need to be tweaked first.

Killer Croc's
Robin
Nightwing
Red Robin
Batgirl
Huntress
Catwoman
Green Arrow
Plastic Man

Now, in order for this to be a fun thread, I'm allowing you to make a list of the characters you'd want to see and they'd be put up here. Now, with each of the characters that one person picked, you can rate them. Enjoy and comment.

Co-op could be fun, but I don't really want to see Green Arrow or Plastic Man.

Allies should be just Robin, Nightwing and maybe Batgirl. Otherwise it'll get a bit overcrowded.

I dont know if freeflow would work with 2 players fighting a group at the same time. When theyre bouncing around from enemy to enemy wouldnt they end up running into each other?

And in predator mode what if each player targets the same gargoyle to grapple to?
If the game has to choose one at random to go to the gargoyle and one player has to miss out it'll get pretty annoying.

Duo attacks, just to keep them from smashing heads to one another, plus, it would look pretty cool...

Maybe have the ability to have two people perched on a gargoyle at once?

i would love to see co-op in the next game. But if Rocksteady decide not to then so be it because they know how to make a good batman game.

I still cant see the freeflow combat working with two people. Its just too hectic, the crazy movements from guy to guy, the fast pace. It would take a lot to fine tune it to work for 2 players, probably more work than its worth

I find myself agreeing with you. To suggest a freeflow co-op option is also suggesting an overhaul to the current freeflow system that we all know and love today. If Rocksteady could pull it off without changing the major aspects of freeflow then that's fine. It'll keep the multiplayer fans happy and I can still play the game by myself without being affected. BUT, if they mess it up just for the sake of adding a second person into the mix, then I'll be severely cheesed. Freeflow is my favourite part of the game as it is.

I say it again: if they REALLY have to add a multiplayer element because nowadays young players don't seem know that the most memorable games are always single player experiences, fine. But add it ONLY in the challenge mode and keep the story mode void of any useless co-op element that may break the gameplay. So everyone will be happy and content.

I'd hate it if they pull an Uncharted 2/Resident Evil 5. In those games, there was always an AI controlled partner following you through the whole game, even if you were playing alone. I hate that. I like to feel that Batman is alone against the enemies, and don't have to bother about some AI-controlled character constantly following me and totally spoiling the solitude effect. Rocksteady, please, please, DON'T DO THAT.

But, for those who'd like multiplayer, there are always the challenge rooms. What do you know? Online co-op challenge rooms could actually be pretty fun, add replay value, and don't spoil the gameplay and feel of the story mode.

I totally agree! I hope to god that they don't add some AI partner that you have to walk around with! That'll suck big time!

Opinions are an interesting thing, are they not? But you simply cannot speak for every youngster of the world. For that would require lots of time to write down their opinions and all their perspectives. So I say this with love, do not speak as if you know everything, plenty of people would probably like multiplayer, many grown adults I might add, and many games out there succeed at multiplayer. We understand you are against multiplayer, so again, please don't speak for anyone else but yourself.

Exactly. It would only work if you could have a human co-op partner and when they weren't playing with you it would be JUST you, no AI partner.
