Hey all,
I was pretty devestated when I booted up Arkham Asylum this morning with the intention of completing the game only to find my game file was corrupted. 75% complete, just finished Killer Croc's Lair, and now my save game file just says 'Corrupt Save' and tells me I ought to delete it. I know how it's happened - last time I exited, I used alt-F4. In my defence, I knew (or at least justifiably assumed) this was a safe way to exit because it doesn't just close down - the game detects it and asks if you'd like to exit. I figured it was intellgient enough not to do so if it was background saving. Clearly not. Quite apart from that issue, I'm pretty astounded the game doesn't backup the save anywhere. I can understand the problem on console, but this has never happened to me in a PC game before. Really not cool. Anyone else had this problem? Is anyone aware of a fix, or have a save game I could import? Cheers, Tom |

The game has not been saved on your PC but somewhere out in CLOUD land on Microsoft's whim. Your issue is with Microsoft.

It's an offline GFWL profile, and I've got what looks like a save game in My Documents/Eidos/Batman Arkham Asylum/SaveData, so I'm not sure that's accurate...

has to do with the fact offline profiles are created in a stupid way. Each offline profile has a unique ID, even if the usernames are different, in order to fully backup a GamesForWindowsLive saved game for an offline profile you must backup the XLive folder.
Windows 7 / Vista - c:\users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive Then drop that on the new system that needs the saved files. |

I have a backup of my XLive folder off my old OS plus my savegame from it too. However when I use that XLive folder it asks me for the Key again. Does it use up an activation each time it asks? I've already entered key twice once on old OS and once on new and if I try restoring old XLive folder it will be a third time.. Anybody know how many activations are available and if they are reused each time - I entered it on my old system but XLive replacement still asks for it - same hardware.

Is there anyway to recover the corrupted saves? This seems really silly to me. Worst save-game system from all games I played until now. Simply horrible.
My problem is somehow related : Recently updated from Win 7 RC to RTM. Did not backup my XLive folder, as I assumed every setting will be saved in the cloud anyway and then just be re-downloaded (apparently this is not the case, way to go M$, what a wonderful experience). Backed up saved games (located in SaveData folder). Reinstalled Batman AA. Saved games from previous install wasnt even recognized. Then when I crated a new savegame, it put that in a different folder in SaveData. I assumed one could simply copy the old savegame over the new one. No such luck. when I did this it just said the savegame was corrupt. Any ideas how a corrupt save might be resored ? Last edited by tilyth; 10-04-2009 at 03:47 PM. |

I have the exact same issue here, I recently went from vista to windows 7 and having corrupt save issues, I ended up merging my old xlive with the new one and still no luck.
I need a fix here please so I can continue playing this game. |

92% Complete, having finally beaten Shock and Awe (Extreme) and the next time I log I'm greeted with "Corrupt Save Game". I am the sad panda..
![]() Is there anything that can be done about this? I played while logged in to GFWL, for what it's worth. |

Well.. yes. I installed Red Faction Guerrilla, which, though I did not know it, also uses GFWL. Are you saying that the other game broke my Batman save file!?
