Default Problem installing TRU on PC

Please help me. I've been given the PC version for Christmas and it won't install on my computer. I have a fairly new computer with heaps of gigabytes available in the memory, I have downloaded directX and an updated Nvidia.

It's really slow to activate the installation process and after a while comes up with the message 'CRC error while installing'.

My computer plays other discs no problem.

Is it likely to be a faulty TRU disc?

Is there a download or patch or cleanup I can do to fix this?

Ran in to the same problem, got the disk for Xmas also but it only loaded to file bigfile.000 and quit, then shot the CRC. I followed all instructions on the CRC and still junk. Now I thenk I have a new piece of bumb disk.
