You're in the room with the columns and the chains, right? If not, don't read on...

no, I'm in the room right after the Rocket Launcher pickup. The one with the flame in the center of the room and a flame in front of a golden door I can't get into. There's an invisible block (?) in front of the flame and door. It's the room with the torch pickup from the center column with the flame. The Guarders level.

Question

Ermm, I never picked up a rocket launcher, and this room doesn't really sound familiar.... So, I guess I can't help you here.....

Can you post a screenshot? Maybe it will come back to me than. (It's a long shot, but who knows)

btw If you finish playing Imhotep2, be sure to download Piega's new creation! It's the queen, the king, the emperor of all custom games! It's quite fantastic!

got it!!!................the door wouldn't open because I lit the torch from the middle of the fire column (standing in front of it) instead of standing on top of the column to trigger the door opening!

That's it????
After the column/chain room that's the end?
I must have missed something - JunoJIm mentioned a room with statues, lots of torches and having to light a bowl/grating beside a column................never saw that.

Question

You didn't get the end fly-by?
You didn't see the 'flame room'?
If you did the chain/column room, there are still 1 (or 2?) quests to do! And then the rocket launcher room!?!?
Are you sure you're playing Imhotep2?
No-one in your family has used your computer and did something to it.... Maybe you should check it out! Always be suspicious when it comes to family!

Very strange! Very strange indeed! The game is afoot! (sp?)

Maybe there are 2 versions of the game? Do you want me to send you a savegame for in the torch/grating room?

????????????
After throwing the torch onto one ledge I went to the other ledge and got out of the column/chain room and into several hallways that ended in a previous level - the one where you had to place the artifact into the slot in the wall that retracted the wall spikes from the hallway and allowed you to continue. Well, of course, I no longer had that artifact so I couldn't continue.

So what did I miss?
There was another door but no access to it.

Question

The game should point itself out from where you are..... Go in one room, get something, go to the hallway with the lowering blocks to find another passage and continue..... I have no idea what happened!

Maybe talk to Palopique, or visit the Prager forums (although my search didn't come up with anything about this level).

I'm sorry but I can't help you! The only thing I have to offer is a savegame.....

EDIT: I re-read your post and you said you didn't have an artefact to get through another door. Did you find the artefact and lost it after you loaded another game, or something..... 'Cause if that's the problem, you should get back to a previous savegame.... Remember there are 4 shaftkeys, and in each (?) level there's also another artefact (a dragon key, and a beetle key is all that I can remember now)....

I don't know what happened - now, whenever I use the binoculars, I get dumped back to windows and the flares don't work even though I have 30 in inventory.
I think it's about time I quit this level.

Thanks for your help and save game offer. Maybe I'll start the NOLF 2 demo or D/L another custom level from LCO.

Thanks again.

It sounds like your game was messed up! Try re-installing it (if you still have some energy left in you).

And for a new download, check out Piega's latest! You definitely won't be disappointed!

I remember I had a prob like that with the binocs - but it does soung like you had another too !!!

I'm in Greenwood S Carolina (actually, in Imhotep 1, in reality) just left the room with the "thanks for playing this game" message - the ending for Imho 2 was very well done too... but I thought it was over, now I'm into another room...

Going now, to try to get it running on my laptop - didn't work at home, but maybe if I select a lower screen res...

The video card on this machine at the Hampton Inn probably can't handle - well, let's see...it says it has an S3 Graphics ProSavage - what's that ??? Also, it's running XP - this may be interesting...

Just got done with the NOLF2 demo......heck of a download.....almost 158 megs......but worth it! Graphics are awesome even though I had to play at the medium resolution because my PC won't handle the highest res. Looks like I'll have to upgrade to be able to handle the highest res in AOD.

@TheBoo - it looks like you'll have plenty of time to upgrade before AOD finally gets to us!

After playing the demo, are you planning on buying NOLF 2?
I haven't made up my mind yet - but , then again, I'm only in the first mission. Controls in games other than TR always seem "clunky" in comparison........ after Lara, Cate's little bitty jump is funny! But I did enjoy NOLF 1..............just not as much as a TR game.

@bene, I finished the demo of NOLF2, and I enjoyed playing it, but I don't think I'm gonna buy it. The "first person" view makes it hard for me to get 'into' the game (too used to TR, I guess) and (for now) my 'puter won't handle the high res version. And, as you said, the controls are awkward (hope AOD isn't like that, if it is, I'll have to do some training). There's still plenty of custom TR levels to keep my gaming genes happy. 'Course, after I get my system upgrade and get done with AOD, I may change my mind .
