Below is a reply-less post I did a long time ago on a crappy forum. I want to play TDS again (on Xbox) after being disappointed by Assassin's Creed. I've read some threads about ghosting, done forum searches, and still have not found an answer. I'm sorry if I didn't search thoroughly enough...but I do find it curious that this topic is not discussed in the threads that I read about ghosting. Perhaps the answer was agreed upon long ago, and that is why the ghosting laws don't contain a body count clause?
"I just finished the Keeper Compound mission on expert. I have invested a lot of time in attempting a no bodies found, zero times caught game on expert. At the end of the level, my stats for these were 0-0 but for total game they were something outrageous like 15-4, and this had to have happened starting when the enforcers begin their hunt. Am I supposed to clean up their bodies and, as is more likely, the bodies of the guards, etc. that they kill IN ORDER for me to maintain my goal? What the hell. I shouldn't have to be responsible for the messes they make! If anyone knows the answer to this, PLEASE RESPOND. Thanks so much." If the answer is "Yes, you taffer, you must clean up the messes the Enforcers make in order to keep your bodies found count at zero," then does anyone have any tips for doing this? THANK YOU!! |

This is a late in the game thing, a part of games that always gets much less testing than earlier portions. My guess is that you are pretty much screwed. I would suggest that you just know personally that you ghosted properly, and consider the game stats a bug.

i think the main problem is that there are PAGANS in the stonemarket proper and there never were before so i think that it may be a part of the game that they made it so if you go into stonemarket proper, no matter what the factions start fighting. as part of the storyline you know. thats why when you come into the scene from old quarter you immediately get caught by the hammerite if you have stolen from the hammerie faction even if u never got caught and are fully allied if he sees u you are cuahgt. then the stupid pagan jsut stands tehre like they didnt even have time to script a small interaction between the npcs playing out the story that ties into the part when you first explore auldale and the peasants are talking about the pagans taking over, and that drept keeps them at bay etc. imo id have to say that this is really one of the only poorly-made parts of the game. all they had to do was just stage a few pgan / hammer battles that you could put the smack on with some gas arrows and a flash or two. like: 1 battle wehre you find the creature with the map back where peasants cant see and one back behind the potion shop and then all you would have to do is make it different from the other days on that same map whereas the invisible checkpoitns that you pass through that spawn guys behind you would only exist in certain locations the only POSSIBLE SOLUTION that i can think of is that maybe just baybe if you ran backward from stonemarket and flash the first guard, then gas arrow or flash the pagan and hammer somehow but keeping your back to wherever the checkpoints are that spwan the guys across the map if anyone knows about how to do this im interested as well heres a link to my vid walkthrough.as far as i know it covers how to knock out everyone and steal everything without getting caught or bodies found on everything up until this point. i havent decided yet if i am going to skip it and say its impossible, or come back to it after and just dubb it in as an example of how its impossible then skip it. lol gl hf http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...0148EDE6F0E982 |

Bodies recover and respawn. There is NO WAY to make it permanent. In fact later on you will find the whole town on a killing frenzy and the dead reviving every time you blink.
Sorry about that.

The stats are not what is important. The thing that matters is what you have actually done. In ghosting, it is only a question of whether they see or hear you, whether you do any damage (or KO AI without damage, e.g., gas), or you cause a melee. See the official rules, a sticky in the Missions forum, for more details. If AI randomly damage one another and you are not responsible for it, then you are good to go. Bodies don't matter if you did not cause them, directly or indirectly, by your action.
The problem with ghosting TDS is that there are some programmed second level alerts (ghost busts) caused by such things as AI noticing that loot is taken. Basically, ghosting is an honor system, and you have to decide whether you have been successful or not. If you ask a question about interpretation of the Ghost rules, I would be happy to answer it if I see it.

I guess I misunderstood you, or you did not explain it. So, I take it that your objective is to KO everyone and make that sure that no bodies are found. For that, you do need the bodies-found counter, obviously. That mode of play is definitely not ghosting. Ghosting requires no damage to or disabling of AI. I might call your play "sneaky BJ mode", which is what I do if ghosting becomes impossible or too tedious. If you are interested, check here for the Official Ghost Rules.
