SR2 Ending Question

Why does Kain say to raziel 'Janos must stay dead'. Surely when he gets the memories of blood omen 2 he knows that he stopped the Device, so why be worried about Janos Staying dead.

There are two possible replies:

(1) Since SR2 came out before BO2, this line does refer to what happens in BO2. It was a marketing ploy.

and

(2) Kain knows something we do not know yet. For example, it's the fact that Janos was sent to the Demon Dimension that will have some terrible consequences.

If you were Kain, wouldn't BO2 in itself be enough? His empire was destroyed and thousands of vampires were massacred, after all. He nearly died, was forced to kill Magnus and Umah, etc, etc.

so kain had another empire before his Raziel empire? confuses me cos i have hardly played blood omen 2, dont have that 1.

I think it's because of Janos falling into the Demon Dimension. Who knows what he's become in there? And the Hylden might be able to use him again.

Well, he had an army, at least, and conquered some places before the Sarafan Lord massacred them.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the hyldin lord possessing janos at the end of defiance, think about it, if janos remaind dead then the hyldin lord had little or no chance of returning to the demon plane.

And that togather with janos been held captive in the demon dimention and powering the mass, would be enough to make kain want to keep janos dead.
