Default aod: margot carvier's apartment gets stuck

at margot carviers apartment you get to see a movie were lara gets in the appartment,

after that it is supposed to get into an conversation with lara and margot where you can choose what lara will say.
but after the first sentence of margot the game hangs and nothing happens.

margot: it is an bad night to go out ( or something like that)
this is said with no voice sound, and after the lips of margot stop speaking margot will stop moving.
the game hangs there, margot doesnt move, i keep seeing the sentence margot said, but the total image isn't stuck coz it keeps raining and lara stil moves a little.

but i cant further nothing happens.
i patched the game and even downloaded a save game for the next level.
but in the next level you see a girl and you can talk to her too, and exactly the same thing happens it gets stuck.

does anyone know how to solve this problem? i've searched the entire forum for it and there is one thread with this very same problem but there is no solution given.

i also tried to unninstal and reinstall the game, install the 2 patches and then play all over, saved the game once but didnt load that save game coz i immediately played further and the same thing happens when i come at margot carviers appartment

note: When i first got this game i've already played it with no problems on this computer, but now i wanted to play it again so reinstalled it and now ive got this......

DOES ANYONE PLEASE KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THIS !!!

Cacodemon, AoD doesn't need an XP patch because it's designed to run with XP.

Macho666, I have a problem in that same place where some of the dialog isn't spoken, but the game doesn't hang for me. I'm not sure what to suggest... You could try going into the game settings and disabling the audio on the sound tab, and see if that lets you get past the conversation.

[edit] oh, you got it working while I was posting. Very good
