Gameplay issue

I am runnning p4 3.2ghz 1gb dual chan ram, 512mb ati radeon x1600, 52xcdrom, everything is to the titz, but the game is so slow when i turn on "next gen" visuals. Agg, so dissapointed in the speed, very choppy...any way to turn frame rate visual on?

the sad thing is the game looks medioker at best when next gen is off...

Please help.
