i can 't load thief the dark project

when i got my new comp i finally could play thief ya right . It loads fine and works untill i try to actualy start the game all i get is a blank screen that i cant get out of. i tried loading it under windows95 im running xp wich it didnt load under. help

First, wrong forum. Sounds like this should have been in Tech Help.

Second, with XP, you've got two options. First is set the setup program to Win98 compatability, the second is to manually run setup with a parameter that is something like -lgntignore, but I'm not sure that's exactly right (this is from memory). The old game thinks XP is Windows NT, which didn't support DirectX. Both fool the program into bypassing that.

ive used tweaks from this thread to get thief 1 and 2 to work under WinXP

lol don't know why my Thief 2 demo can't use the hardware in video options, after I updated my video drivers to play Thief 3 I think. It works fine before.
