Why wasn't Project Eden a hit?
I aquired it recently in an end-of-line sale for £7.99 and have not been able to stop playing it. I finished it tonight after nearly three weeks worth of entertainment and just do not understand why it wasn't a big seller. I suppose that, with the current state of Core Design, there will be no sequel. Such a shame.

- You can't die (well, really die) - Squad Based aspect is totally fake. - Puzzles are kinda simple - Enemies are kinda dumb - Hacking/repairing/opening doors is a routine, not a challenge because they remain the same for the whole game. It could have been so much more. + Story is okay + Atmosphere is great |

It was indeed a great fun game, staticon - a shame it didn't fare better.
It actually had some longevity to it - a rarity indeed these days As to characters not being able to jump - that never hampered the survival horror series (RE/SH etc) - but in retrospect it would certainly have been welcome in the survival horror series (RE/SH etc). Even Solid Bloody Snake can't jump - and he's supposed to be well trained. ![]() And its squad based aspect worked just fine for me within the context of the game. Sure you don't really die as such, but bite the big one in the wrong location and it made catching up with the rest of the team a hoof 'n a half. Last edited by DaveJ; 09-24-2003 at 03:16 AM. |

That final scene was a little bit of an anticlimax but, overall, it was like taking part in a good story.
The texturing, lighting and atmosphere were all just right and the whole thing gave me the impression that this was everything TR AOD should have been but didn't quite reach. (Though I did enjoy AOD, it was a tad short, even for me.)
