Default Rolling back a patch on steam

DE:HR is the first steam game I have ever played, I was wonder if it is possible to roll back today's patch as I want to use the mods? I do not want to wait until they are re-released I want to play DE:HR now with mods

Edit: Nevermind I didn't realize you could set steam to prompt you before auto updating.

Just give it a day. I was itching myself to play today but when I saw my mods no longer work I raged a little and took it out on some players in TF2. The modders are pretty good with patching it quickly.

If you plan to use any of available inventory mods its will work without any problem 99%
But Burger mod most likely not.

Actually they said that the current mod out would only work for 1.2.630 now that it is at 1.2.633 it won't work and when I looked at my inventory after the update all the weapons were back to normal size and a lot of stuff was actually outside of the inventory itself. I dare not touch anything until I get the repackaged mod.

Ah yes you are right. I forgot that Lapdragon use patch1 for modding instead patch0.
Well i correct myself - if any patch (exept burger mod) contain patch0.000 it still work with your game
If mod is a based on patch1.000 then you need await for update

You can't. Those ers at Valve recently stealthily removed the option to disable autoupdates - it's still there, but all it does now is that the downloads start when you try to run the game. If you already have the game installed, the one thing you can still do is go into offline mode.

Sadly I didn't realize that until after I reinstalled

The latest patch is just a new executable. Modifications to patch0.000 or patch1.000 should still work, unless they rely on specific hacks in the EXE as well.

Oh hey, since you've posted here, would it be possible to add a kind-of support for mods in a future patch? Just basically the game loading any "mod.<text>.000" asset it would find? As an example, say, mod.gibbed.000 or mod.rebalance.000? Tho the load order would probably become a problem... unless a number in the filename could determine that? Would make it much easier than repackaging patch files.
