Default The Hung Hua Hotel: Share your experience (Not recommended for new players) SPOILER

Share your experiences here,
the game, not the girls

Oops, the title got an error, lol
"ew players"

Hopefully whoever posts or read here, have finished the game.
but still put spoilers when possible

Finished my 1st run with "Bring me Deus Ex" difficulty. Only time I got stuck was with muscle guy. But I found a way to beat him in less then a minute in Hardest difficulty, lol
The rest went smooth sailing. Guess sneaking makes hard easy, I try shooting in my next round, they all come at me, lol
rather than I take 1 by 1 down.

Oh & I don't have any Crosshair, lol didn't know that after a while, still I hit my targets most of the time.

1 nice note is, I haven't failed any chatting in my 1st run without loading, but I do load to see what happens if i fail, lol
Didn't use pheromones unless there's no other way to get it done.

Anyway to start any topic, I'll go 1 by 1, where there's choices.

Zeke Sanders
How did u tame the beast?

I talk him to death, or scare him away leaving his prey.

Anyone knows how to capture Zeke alive with the hostage alive but all u got are killing tools?
if no

I swear I must've loaded a thousand times before non-lethally taking Sanders down, he always kills her even after I'd gotten shots off on him. Eventually I just let it go and let her stay dead.

On my first play-through I took the facility with only nonlethal means and talked Sanders into letting Mrs. Thorpe go and fleeing before the coppers get there (without using the CASIE Aug).

Second play-through I killed everyone. SWAT, Purity First, Hostages (after disarming the bomb)... I shot Sanders with my duel-barrel before he could kill Thorpe. Then shot the SWAT who rushed in, then took out Thorpe as she coward on the floor.

Mostly I wanted to see how the game might react to it all. It didn't, really.

I'm doing a psychopath-run just killing everyone you can kill (after doing their quests in questionable ways). The game doesn't react too well. After I'd killed everyone in the police station, the background chatter track was still running. Sarif doesn't mention it. There was a report in the news tablet of a 'bloodbath massacre' at the police station, though. Same thing in the hive, background chatter still on and Tong doesn't react. After arriving in Montreal, it was reported that a maniac had attacked Tai Yong on one of the TVs in a meeting room. It's a shame Deus Ex did a better job with the reactivity :/

well alot of people that die in the storyline could be saved and turned up later in the game
sometimes helping someone earlier would grant you easier access to another level or give other bonuses
usually there was different dialogue if you chose to kill someone or let them live.
sometimes missions changed slightly.

the level progression never changed as far as i can remember .. but there were lots of changes in dialogue.
most characters could be experienced in various ways.

heck even entering the ladies restroom got a reaction.

or jumping on a desk someone was working at (sometimes)

this is why there are so many people even to this day who are still playing the game every now and then...

there were so many possible ways to experience the story that almost nobody really managed to find it all.

i know that i have probably finished the game a good 10 times and theres still something new i discover every time.

DXHR lets you make alot of choices about how to play... but its not reflected in the actual story as much as in the original.
for example the bosses can be killed in lots of different ways... but it always leads to the exact same cutscene.
in the original DX you could actually talk to them, meet them in different places by avoiding the fight.. and even kill them before they actually turned hostile on you
and in most cases there was actual dialogue to reflect on what you had done.
it only hints at things that have already been done in DX1 .. and quite often in a more complex way.
its still a good game tho. there are alot of things that could have been better

Aww, was hoping u say there was a reaction, lol

like when u kill Anna in DX1, that guy say they'll cover it up.

btw, how u get ur additional items? I got augmented edition but dunno how to add it & what is the extra Tong mission?

is it the one on the boat port?

BTW how u get social aug so early?
I only can get 1 point out before Sanders, 2 after him.

Well, killing Zeke, or knocking him out, or letting him go, do all have exclusive consequences. But there's no reaction to lost SWAT. Killing Mrs. Thorpe wields no comment. And killing only Mr. Thorpe changes the game so that it recognizes that all the hostages were killed by the gas bomb. Even if you leave all the others alive, if Mr. Thorpe dies by any means, it's assumed they all died in the gas. Which is super dumb.

BTW remember the code we got, we discuss about before?

I found out what it was & yes we could use it in the BETA back then.

What a shame, I was planning a 'kill everybody' second playtrough. Guess that's no fun if there isn't at least some new reactions.

Guess I'm going non-lethal next.

Just shoot his leg, he turns your attention to you, and you knock him out.

Since i dun have the crosshair, i wasn't sure where I hit him.
so can't be too sure if it has to be the leg, the chest probably works too.

I've always won the speech check with him, but one time I just wanted to get him arrested so I shot him in the leg with a 10mm and did a NL takedown.

Hehe, don't underestimate Pritchard's satisfaction of showing you your vices - he does tell you to stay out of the lady's restroom if you've been there.

Alternate ending:

Everyone stop augmenting themselves because they realised the neuropozyne is making people sterile.
That's why we don't see any kids around.

So there's nothing to fight about anymore. Darrow got what he wants, Taggart dun have to keep augs in check
Sarif, well only he'll be dissapointed.

20 so years later, the city is full of kids running around & lots of old people.

I don't understand how the Rescue Tong works?
is it the one where we meet Tong switching hands? Is that the DLC?

So is it automatically activated without a special key to key in?

If this is that DLC, I wonder how people with the standard version progress the game, looks important to me.

Oh & where are my remote detonators & double barrel & silent sniper???
lol

how do i activate those, can't find anything on steam program or in the game.

The Rescue Tong mission takes place after the level you described above. In exchange for the information you seek, Tong senior sends you to some abandoned noodle factory where his son (Tracer Tong) is beeing held captive.

As for the Whisperhead and Diamondback, you get them + some explosives just before you enter the Milwaukee lab. (The game actually notifies you about activated bonus material at this point). After this, you can buy explosives and AUDs from weapons dealers.

The grenade launcher is awarded to you after beating the Tongs Rescue mission.

The Milwaukee lab?

I restarted the game at least 4 times for different reasons, they didn't ask me to key in anything.

I have the code paper, what I don't have is the game asking for it.

Pointless to have the code with no where to type it in.

You have to redeem the code on Steam, which will then patch your game with the DLC content.

On another note, I'm a bit miffed that I had to wait until the final 1/3 - 1/4 of the game to get my Grenade Launcher. Sure, it trivializes boss battles (which is why I pre-ordered that package in the first place), but outside of a no-sneak, all-lethal PT, that gun doesn't have any other good use. I mean, you can get the Whisperhead right from the start, and I'm sure that thing trivializes lethal stealth PTs. /rant

Circumstances made me not notice it.
My internet was down, had to go to someone else's place the next day, had to grab the power cable & all from 1 place to another, bla bla bla. End up slipping my mind, so much happening at once.

even left my dinner at their place, lol

till now all I know is, the code is on it, no instructions.
