Default JC2 - FPS drop

Greetings,

I experience FPS drop every 4 seconds -- sharp --, in-game but also at the mainscreen without any save game loaded and running.

Benchmarking with the tool included provide the same FPS drops.

Hardware specs are as below:

Sony Vaio Z
Core i7-620M
8GB Ram
Nvidia 330M GT 1 GB

Drivers are updated, however, nvidia drivers are quite old since latest nvidia drivers does not support Hybrid graphics switching systems (so to say Vaio notebooks), and as Sony has not released yet their display drivers for their graphics switching technology, there is no proper way to update those nvidia drivers to a recent version.

To clarify, I am not *ing about poor framerate or performance, here is I think a real issue with either nvidia drivers (because outdated) or something conflicting with the game.

Game has been purchased on Steam. Cache files has been defragmented and verified.

Everything is closed/killed in the background, also all resources should be available to the game to run properly.

As a result, it is unplayable.

Does anyone have a lead on a possible solution on this matter please?

Sincerely and thanks in advance for any sort of help,

Well bud your specs smoke mine but maybe you have some processes in the background conflicting with your internet performance which in turn may indirectly mess with gameplay.

You could try to use ccleaner and clean up the registry and other files. and then try to clear your graphics drivers with a remove tool and then install the latest fresh. I left nvidia at the 210 card series and went straight to ATI i love them all the way. I have a 5770 and this game looks sick man.

I have noticed similar issues, but your video card really is terrible. The nvidia 300 series is a rebranded 200 nvidia. A 330 is basically a slightly updated 9 series bottom of the line card, not exactly a lot of graphics power there.

I doubt his card is too 'terrible' to play JC2
I'm using a 9800 GTX+ I got second hand and the game runs on full (except AA which is on 4) and its perfectly playable, the fps isn't fantastic but there is no noticeable lag whatsoever.
