Music from the trailers not in game (I hope)

Does any one know if the music is composed by Kurt Harland ? He created INSOC and was the main music composer for almost all of the LOK games.

I asked this because of the 2 trailers on the main LOK-D web site are using music from REACH 454, that really does not "belong" or suit LOK like Kurt Harland's music. There is a trailer on http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/lokdefi/media.html (number 2) that sounds like Kurt's work, but the other 2 are not.

I really hope that Kurt did the music for this game, because the music form the other trailers are not very good (especially for this type of game/atmosphere).

Thanks!

The music selected for the trailers I am guessing serves the purpose of *filler music*, either to market the game, or the actual soundtrack isn't completed. (Or a combination of both).

This specific question has been asked a couple of times and this is the response that was issued:

So far, Jim is doing the game music for Defiance. I might contribute music, if needed at the end. Kurt is most likely going to be busy handling the music for Whiplash. I'm working on sound effects for Defiance at this very moment and on Whiplash down the road a little. I am working on game music, but that's all I'll say right now.
And since this statement was issued, no one else from CD has confirmed otherwise.

Yeah i agree that those songs don't fit the actual games, but I think they worked with the trailers great. Oh and just the third trailer has a song by Reach 454.

Thanks for the info! I am glad to "see" that Jim is doing the music (he did a great job on BO2).

Thanks again! and I hope this will not be the last LOK game!!!!

alright.....ive had enough of this about the trailer songs being ugly ...some people like that kinda music ....some DONT....deal with it.....even if it DID make it into the game....you still have a lot to be thankful for considering the music in some other games (not gonna name.....not gonna name!)

besides......the song in the first trailer was totally rockin ....thats the kinda music that suits TRAILERS

Calm down, H.Bogard. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether it happens to agree with yours or not. No harm has come from StormLord's inquiry and the other opinions here, so there's really no need for you to get snippy.

I understand you may be frustrated with the numerous complaints regarding the trailer music, but sometimes it's often best to bite your tongue and refrain from contributing to such threads rather than respond to them non-constructively.

yeah i think the trailer soundtracks so far have been great apart from the newest 1 but its not that bad and i doubt we will here them in game (maybe an extra the E3 trailer at least) i reckon we will be treated to the same masterful music we know and love , but they have yet to make a theme that beats the sr1 Raziel/Pillars/Meeting Kain theme tune .IMO(dont be afraid i think its called)

It's called Ozar Midrashim, and it's by Information Society, which to my knowledge hasn't had any involvement with the other games in the series. I have no idea what that title means.

sorry for my agression

moving back to the topic i agree with the point that i have yet to hear a soundtrack better than sr1`s intro/sanctuary of clans music

Are u nutts?

I like the othe LOK games soundtrack ( I have the SR1 , SR2 and BO2 ones and the few nosgoth.net BO2 mp3s) but the trailler kind of music added to the allready classical LOK series music would be great.Ok I must admit that I like rock (marilyn Manson, Placebo, Guano Apes, evanescence) but
why not rock ?

Kainite 09-25-2003 08:05 AM

My god, what are they doing to our game...
 :(

The trailer soundtracks just don't fit the atmosphere of a LoK game.
I hope that this typ of music dont get to the final product

Unholy Messiah 09-25-2003 09:41 AM

I thought the music fit well in terms of what the trailers were showing, but I highly doubt that CD is going to throw heavy rock music into the game after having such quality music in the other games of the series... no reason to stray from what has been working, right?... :)

Just as long as you're not talking about the trailer where it has that ripple affect in it and it beings with showing raziel's feet and he is spinning ad the camera goes up an then kain is right beside him and is doing the same thing, I love that song.... does anyone know how to get a longer download?

SpliffTastic 10-22-2003 12:36 PM

I wish they'd put Ozar Midrashim in another LOK game. Hearing that song in the beginning FMV is what made me love SR1 and this whole series in the first place.

Although the music for Defiance is gonna be done by LOK music veterans, I still think Kurt Harland is the best out of them and him working mostly on Whiplash instead of Defiance is definetly a dissapointment!:(
